Phew, feel a bit wind swept this evening but what a day!!
It was lovely to get up nice and late (well after 7am) and get to the show in under 20 minutes, there were plenty of entries in the classes today and some really stiff competition so we weren't expecting that much to be honest.
However, little Clemmie kick started the day by winning her yearling class - mixed breeds. I was so proud of her, it was the first time I've ever shown her and she really takes it in her stride. The hounds came through the collecting ring whilst we were waiting for her class and she just kept on munching. With little Rocket's county win for Hannah yesterday that means all of Magics offspring bar the one that doesn't show has a county win under their belts; a record we are pretty proud of tonight. First time I've shown in just under a year too so I'm really pleased.
Then Magic went into the mixed stallions. It was an absolute stonking class. There was Castle Comet, the Olympia champion that we think has not been beaten inhand since the Olympia win (we think!), Rackwood Robin who is a seriously nice fell we come up against a lot, Torrin of Croilia who is a stunning Highland stallion that has won some big classes and another fell stallion who is just a youngster. Magic trotted out beautifully in the go round and we were over the moon to be pulled in second behind Comet.
However, it only got bettter when after the individual show the judge pulled Magic up into first, above Comet! Well, we nearly all hit the floor.
Phew, we only had a minute or so to collect ourselves and had to head back in for the large breeds championship. Magic then took that, with Comet in Reserve.
Anyway, several hours later we had to play off with all the different welsh sections and the small breeds for the supreme inhand M&M. It was a different judge but Magic ended up taking the Supreme inhand M&M Champion. We're so so pleased and proud of him tonight, he's taking a well deserved rest tomorrow before headed out again on Sunday for Weatherby.
Pics to follow in a minute I should think, the only disappointment of the day was the lack of professional photographers there. Madge got a lovely trophy and some beautiful rossettes, its would have been nice to have had a professional photo taken with it all.
