I took Rocky to a local Riding club today and did the youngstock class. We got 2nd and qualified for the NW Counties Champs in September! I am very pleased, although he was a horror bag today!! They all were, so I think it must have been flies annoying them!
The judge forgot to give us our qualifying cards, so I went to the Secretary's caravan and the lady and man in there were awful!!! They spoke to me like I was a 10 year old! I am 30, and I know I look young, but not that young!!!! I asked if I should have qualified (politely of course!) and they didn't have a clue! I had read the rules, and was 90% sure I had, but was obviously confusing them!! Anyway, the lady in there said to me:
'Have you thought that the judge may not have thought that any horse in that class was goood enough to qualify, I mean, they don't have to qualify you if you're not good enough!!!'
How rude is that!!! I responded by saying that the gentleman who came first was definitely good enough to qualify, even if I wasn't, and he didn't get a card!!! It was quite obviously an error!!
Anyway, I went back to the ring and the judge had been waiting for me to come back, and had filled in the form for me!!!
What can I expect! This is the riding club who placed a lady 1st in ridden veteran because her horse's ears were forward and he looked happy!!!!!! I kid you not! That is what the judge announced to everyone!! Never mind the fact that he had lots of scars, was as stiff as a board, ridden badly, and was VERY downhill!!!!!!
I think I will avoid that one in future!!
