First things first, despite the unsuccessful day, I absolutely adore my pony and couldn't have had a better day.
Well, the day started early (7.30 wake up, after a few hours sleep ) Stumpy was looking lovely and shiny, eagerly coming to see mummy! Bought her, washed her feathers - now, these bleeding feathers have caused me a lot of greif over the last three weeks, nothing will budge the stains, so no one can say I didn't make an effort!!
First class at 10, so just casually got my self ready. Managed to embarass a livery who walked in on me getting changed (twice!). Forgot my knee rolls and my borrowed boots so raced on the moped to get them. Got ourselves ready.
1st Class, 20-something liveries and RS ponies in Best Turned Out. A long, tedious and hot class. I spent FOREVER preening us, a bit gutted when we didn't get anything cept a childs rosette for being a select few who didn't actually get placed!
2nd Class, Best Ridden. What a laugh! Haha, it went to pot from the beginning. Judge said Stumpy was a horrid name! Ah well. Individual show went to pot, Stumpy napped, I just grinned at everyone! Such a beautiful grin Needless to say, we did NOT get placed. Least we had a go though.
3rd Class, In-hand. My new favourite. Stumps was fab at this. We gave it our all, despite the dodgy conformation we got 5th!!! (out of 12) so guess how pleased am I It's such a pretty rosette, pink - stunning! We got a massive cheer, she's a popular pony for all her antics
4th Class, the most dreaded top score jumping. Now, I pulled out this after a severe bout of nerves - but a bit of joint encouragement from those around, I did it. I am so very proud of her, we didn't get placed but she was ace! And the nice comments were flowing from everywhere about the improvement seen etc so I was as pleased as punch.
She was left to chill whilst we watched the Chase Me Charlie which went up to 4 ft. She was fed, spoilt a bit more and then turned out - all satisfied.
So, there we go. Stumpy and Araminta's show, a mini disaster with one saving grace in there. It goes without saying really how my I adore my pony and she tried her very best for me today
Special mention must go to my cousin who had the day of me stressing, bossing and moaning at as I forced her to be my groom. Much appreciated Lucinda.
Pics to follow guys. Thanks for reading this mammoth
