Had a great day today! Tool William to Biggar Show today for the M+M In-Hand class. The weather was really warm and sunny which gave his coat a great shine and he was looking fab. At the last couple of shows I have had him to I have been told by my mum and some others that I don’t run him up fast enough to show off his paces !! I cant run hard enough !! (I blame my little short legs !!)
Well I have been “sacked” as handler for shows and we decided that my mum would take him in today and see if she can get him to trot up better than me. Well this was the first time my mum has taken a pony into the show ring and was quite nervous about taking him in. (Now she knows how I feel !!) There was just one mixed M+M class for over 4 years old mares and geldings so they were in with a mixed bunch of Highlands, Welsh, NF, and Highlands etc. My mum was really shocked when she was pulled in first !! They did a good individual trot up and stayed first ! So William got his first red rosette today, really pleased. He has done well before but never first. They then went into the M+M championship with the others from M+M Lead Rein, M+M First Ridden, M+M Ridden (Open), M+M Youngstock In-Hand and M+M Brood Mare with foal at foot. Everything else in the championship was a welsh of some description, the big ridden Welsh D won the championship and the foal with the broodmare was reserve.
We then realised we would have to go in the parade. This show the parade has a pipe band, all the cattle, Clydesdales and everything. He was really good, so we all had a great day.
A couple of pics. One of him with his rosette and one of him in the parade.
