Hello,
After much thought I eventually went (was my last one so decided I would go and enjoy it). Anyhow seeing as Sid is off work was given a lovely little 12.3hh to take called Pie (whos currently for sale), been bringing her into work for a couple of months now and thought she would be upto it.
Well she settled in fine on her first day (calling to all the sexy geldings opposite her). Everyone loved her and says shes very cheeky little pony with lots of characted. Am in the older lots group and I offically am on the smallest pony, I was in a group with horses from 15hh - 16.3hh, so Pie was abit ickle.
The next day we had flatwork in morning and SJ in afternoon.
Morning Pie was nothing but an angel trying her hardest at everything, all the other horses go in outline and look very posh and so did Pie, she looked like a proper little dressage pony and did some flying changes for the first time and prooved to love it. As soon as we go to change the rein in canter she knows whats coming and her ears prick forwads ;D
Afternoon did some basic gridwork and Pie was lovely. She really had to extend her paces to fit in with the other horses and amazed everyone by not having a problem with the distance. We had three bounced then 2strides and un upright of about 2ft3 at first with some scary fillers and she popped it no problem, then went upto 2ft6 and she had a lil look but flew. Everyone loves her and cant believe how honest she is.
The enxt day we had some drill riding and she loved it, although kept pulling soem faces a the 15hh who kept trying to bite her. In afternoon did some XC, did the small course from 2ft3-2ft9 and she FLEW. She really enjoyed herself with ears pricked all the way round. We were following my friend 16.3hh big massive thing as it was Pies first time on a proper xc course. My mate had trouble with his 16.3hh and Pie waited patiently for them to get over some jumps and through the water then popped over everythignw ith atleast 2ft to spare not batting an eyelid...We did have a problem with the water. Got in and she just stopped, she didnt want to get out, so was kickin her, and she was planted, then a smacked her she gave a buck, I fall off into water and she goes to roll Got back on and did it again and she was fine, We ahd mini lake to go through later on if we wanted to go bareback and we went and she LOVES the water, had little swim as she could swim in it and didnt want to come out of it at first ;D
Had dressage next day and did a walk/trot test practise and she was lovely. Then gymkana in afternoon and we won nearly all our races proving we can turn on a sixpence. She looked like a proper little games pony on brakes wernt in fully working order. I also had the benifit of being able to dimount in canter and vault onto her in canter (we tried in gallop but she was tooo quick and I was too slow). We had a walkign race but got disqualified for cantering on the spot
Needless to say we are havign the time of our lives and doing a SJ course tomorrow first round is 2ft6 and second 3ft-3ft3, I have a feeling we may go under a few instead of over as havnt jumped that big as a course before.
Got show last two days (wed and thur) we have a ODE and gymkana and on thur we have a proper show and we are doing WHP, senior rider and the mounted games aswell and an inhand show.
Came home to get some clothes and thought I would let you know what weve been upto.
Im still trying to work out how you can make a 12.3hh grow to 13.3hh because then I would buy her hands down, but I still cant think. I already have lots of pics and vids and got some prof ones on wed and thurs ;D
