They've only been on them a week so it is too early to say how they are doing, but they are hoovering them up!
The only thing I have found is that Apollo and Jenny like there's sloppy - if they are too dry they both eat them then stand with their heads down gulping - I think they must get stuck or feel like they are stuck. Anyway, tonight I made them nice and sloopy and no trouble at all, straight down the hatch and onto the hay - HURRAH!
Apollo and Jenny are on 1/2 a kilo each, and Monty and Harley get 1/4 a kilo between them, with Harley getting 2/3 of it if you can follow the maths! That pair don't need much, it is more to keep them quiet while the others eat theirs. I have to pen Harley as he would scoff his then eat Apollo's too and I can't have them in 2 fields at the moment. Jenny is the boss of Monty so there is no problem there.
So, so far so good! At least they eat them - I was told that some horses don't find them that tasty! Reckon whoever said that hasn't met a Dales....

Glad the nuts seem to be working out so well. I think Karen is right, if they've developed a sweet tooth through eating mixes, they might well turn their noses up at grass nuts. I might try some for old Winnie.
