A few weeks ago I was asked by one of the other liveries if I wanted to do a pleasure ride that is setting off from one of the villages near by. Today I said yes!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeek this will be my first ever thing apart from hacking out that I have done with Zoe...with any horse. Tips on how to look like I am having fun when I am scared stupid would be good ;D. She is pretty bomb proof. We mostly ride off road. Today on one of the tracks she started to get a bit edgy when I turned round there was a FIRE ENGINE right up behind us...... . Most unexpected.

You'll be fine. Try to smile lots, and if you can manage to laugh a bit too it helps with the relaxation. I always find that my hipflask of sloe gin is a big help on these occasions! LOL If you're going with sensible company you'll have a lovely time, I'm sure.
LOL at the fire engine - any horse would get edgy with that coming up behind them. What on earth were they doing on the tracks?

Have fun! I love pleasure rides. I'd recomment either a neckstrap or a hunting breastplate so that if things get a bit exciting you can stay calmly on board without having to hoik on the reins at all! Sloe gin sounds good too!

You will be fine, I love pleasure rides, but I can still remember how nervous I was on my first one, but once we got going I had a great time, just try and relax and enjoy it, be warned though once you do one they can be addictive.
