Just walked in the door and just about to crack open the champagne. Slightly sleep lacking as we left at 3.30am this morning (up at 2.30am) but its been definatly worth it.
We just took a small lorry load of Magic and Clemmie. First up were the breed classes and we started with magic taking the Dales stallion class . The championship went to Castle Hill Sally - a v.lovely mare of Don Crowe's/Glynnis Cockbain's.
Several hours later (literally the last class) we had the Kilmannan Inhand M&M Silver Medal Championship - basically the main reason we went down to Malvern today; you qualify over the year by taking a supreme champion so v.v.good quality animals . Massive entries with 24 catalogued in the large breed section including several past Olympia qualified animals, the Queen's fell who has qualified for the HOYS cuddy this year etc etc.
Anyway to cut a very long story short Magic was pulled in first in the initial line-up ;D ;D ;D ;D and only went and stayed there. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Second to him was the Queen's fell so we are expecting a congratulatory telegram in the next few days
He had to then go back in for the championship against the first/seconds from the three sections and took SUPREME RESERVE CHAMPION. He got a sash!!! We've never had a sash before and were more excited about that than the gold medal rosette that comes with it LOL. Its even more special as its in the Dales colours (like the Dales special rosettes) because the championship is sponsored by Kilmannan stud.
Then we got rushed across to the grand arena for the Supreme M&M stallion championship. We assumed to be honest, we had completely missed it because of being in the Kilmannan but the stewards held the class for us to allow us to get there. We stripped off all the rossettes/sash etc, stuck the red rosette on from the morning class and in we went. Well under a different judge he only went and took it too ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Gorgeous trophy and another set of lovely rosettes - even one for his breeder LOL.
Phew so completely exhausted and whilst we are feeling a little sad about missing the breed tomorrow to be honest we really did make the right decision today.
Pics to come in a second.
