Went to see Karen at PUK today and have never seen such atrocious conditions these brave riders had to contend with! Water logged rings, stables and roads, mud so deep that Karen nearly lost Daniels back leg in a hole! Daniel was absolutely wonderful even with all this going on! Karen came in tenth out of a huge class and looked superb. Had a little leap about but nothing too bad and how she kept going in all that rain I'll never know. They both would have benefitted from wearing aqualungs! Lol! Finally got to meet some lovely Dalesfans! Maxine(Jakesmum) Linda(dalesponyrider) and Pam(harveydales) who we only had time for a quick hello before we had to head off to the notorious M25! (hold ups yet again!)
Had a lovely day with everyone and really enjoyed ourselves! Hopefully we'll be there with Flash next year!
Soprry no pics as forgot camera!

Well done for perservering Karen, we were going to go across and see Minstrel with Claire but after seeing one horse slip right over in the ring it was decided to abandon. Seeing the amount of rain we've had over the last days and just how slipperly our fields are newark showground must be a quagmire!!

It really was a quagmire! How Karen and the other riders managed to cope with it all and still look so elegant is beyond me. They all were fantastic and what a brilinat result for Karen and Daniel!
Sue - what a shame it was such a brief meeting but nice to put a face to a name. Actually, it wasn't til some time afterwards I realised which Sue you are! Hope you didn't get too much of a hold up on the M25. I was moaning at the short holdup on the Lincoln by-pass which was why we arrrived later than expected.

I wondered if the weather would be as bad over there, the riders should all get a rosette for competing under those conditions! What a shame after all their hard work preparing themselves and their ponies, still what can we do about the weather Well done to everyone and I am sure you all had a great time despite the awful conditions (at least you were all in it together!)
