Have you walked him over things that crackle like a plastic sheet? How is he if you sit on him and reach out to pick up a sack that might have something tasty or noisy inside? I did one that had a fishing rod in a holder. Had to reach out from the saddle, pick up the fishing rod and then catch an object out of a bucket with the rod.
We've had to jump a bale of straw, walk through a gate, so practice opening and closing from the saddle. You could practice draping things over him in case you have to get him to carry an object across his withers/back.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

A washing line with clothes on - you have to hang something on it a watering can or basket on a table that you have to pick up ride on a bit then put it down on another table lead pony through a trailer I'll keep thinking

This is something i keep meaning to do with Jasper on a regular basis to make him less spooky whilst hacking alone, so once he sound again i must do this once a week.
Using cones (traffic cones) or something simular tie balloons and plastic bags so they are flaping about and get them use to walking passed and standing next to them. Will take time, but a good exercise.

picking up a bucket full of empty coke cans, umbrella, flag, backing up into a square, going over tarpaulin, going through one of those strip fly curtains (Bobs wouldnt do that for love nor money) doing 'around the world' on horse, getting pony to stand front legs inside one of those hoola hoop things, doing a small jump (even if it means walking over it) and I cant think of any more. Good luck at the show Ali we will all cheer you on.

I was really pleased with them both - Ali and Harvey that is. They did everything I set up for them and I never for one minute expected Harvey to walk over the bright sheet I'd put on the ground but he didn't bat an eyelid. Now why is it he made such a meal of it all last year at the Perf Show?

Saturn is the same Pam - he will go over/through/under practically anything at home without batting an eyelid - but away from home - now that is a different kettle of fish!!

Ducks in a plastic tray......oh the memories!! Few years back at performance show this was one of the tasks and tucker nearly died!!! Id practised everything at home, we'd have umbrellas on the yard, cones out, plastic bottles, rags hanging off plant canes in the wind, taupaulin sheets and he was perfect; took him to the performance show and would we go near the plastic ducks on the plastic tray - would we heck!!!

We set up a handy pony course in the field the other day. We had to wait at the "wait here when red light shows" sign. make our way round some various signs. Walk through a channel made of flapping stripey tape and cones, walk over a tarpaulin (well, i walked over it - Merlin went round the edge LOL wimp!!, walk through a coil of pipe and finally go and visit a feedbag! It's a great way to bombproof your horse!
