Nice to see a Heltondale in the ribbons. That was Tom's line.

just looked at the results online and no dales to be seen anywhere. I am quite surprised really as Flash really looks something when he goes! Ah, well, I wonder if he jsut didnt suit the judges preference today?

Thats a shame - no dales in the championships, well done to anyone who competed there today though.
Will watch out to see if there are any in the workers tomorrow (probably not!)

Maybe the judges just thought the Dales had dominated for too long? I like Flash, but I wonder sometimes if judges just like to see a fresh face?

Bummer! I guess the dales can't win 'em all, and I'm sure with a shetland they have a serious *cute* factor. Well done to all who took part

im totally suprised that there were no dales in the top nine!!!
heltondale misty is one of the best examples of a fell i have seen. raisbeck casino that came 2nd is also a lovely typey pony........congrats to emma and family!
i think its wonderful that a shetland has taken champion...........theres some fabulous shetties out there and sadly they are overlooked..........not this time tho!

Well done to all of those who took part! Ofcourse I really hoped the Dales would do well but I must admit, I do think it's nice to see a Shetland take the Championship.

The Shetland was seriously cute and got a great cheer when he and his little jockey did a gallop down the long side ;D
Heltondale Misty was a lovely moving Fell and deserved her place. I did like Bunowen Castle Ri the Connie but perhaps the judge thought it was time for a new face! I didn't think the competition was as good as I've seen before though.

Rachel I don;t know all the names of the winners of the M&M Workers but;
1st in the exc 138cms was Troubadour (sp!) a connemara stallion, 2nd was a NewForest Pony
1st & 2nd in the 122-138 cms were both Welshies I think.
1st in the up to 122cms was a Dartmoor Stallion, 2nd a section A
The Dartmoor took the supreme with the sec A reserve.

I was there last year and Heltondale Misty looked good then. However last year was a Dales year rather than a Fell year......
I have not seen Raisbeck Cascino myself yet - just seen the name frequently this year - the first year RC has been out and doing very well. I gather it was a close run thing between them in the HOY class this year but Misty got slightly better marks in the ridden performance.
