Bev, why DOES it take so long to mark an arena? It's only a rectqngle after all!! Took me and Mike about 3 hours to do mine!
I might pass on this one - unless you get extra points for racing corners and falling in on the circle LOL!

That's a good idea. I've no horse to do one on myself, but I'm sure this'll be really popular with lots of people on the site.

Well I won't be entering anyway but hope it would be OK for Nikki and Ali to do it on Harvey?
How does it work? Do you get someone to video the whole test standing at C where the judge would normally be? Shall we include a walk/trot only test aswell as a standard test? Oooh, I'm getting a bit carried away now!

Sounds like a really good idea. Will the entry fee be going to a charity??

I would love a walk/trot test such as they use in the CRC. Then I could do it on both Saturn and Dancer!

It would be brilliant if those entering could decide on where they'd want the money to.....DPS, or some other charity...above and beyond the money needed for the judge (and bribes in Pimms ) of course.

If I organise it independantly as a Highland pony person everyone could enter. My Instructor was at the Hipo camp and everyone loved her.
It works by everyone sending in a video or dvd of their test. This is done by standing behind C to video so you get a judges eye viewpoint. The quality does not need to be amazing as she is able to see the way of going etc easily. You are not allowed to edit it though!
The test could be a choice between a walk and trot test which we could post on the site for everyone to print off, or a certain prelim test. Everyone dresses up in their best togs as for a show, does their test and posts it off with the entry fee by a pre decidided date. The test is judged over an afternoon of video watching just like judging a test. the videos are returned with a mark sheet and rosettes where appropriate! Sometimes you can ask for a detailed comment giving advice on how to improve your test. Overall marks are posted on site. the judges decision is final! how does that sound?

That sounds bloody BRILLIANT!! Mind I'm not riding...and if it were between me and Blossom (yearling dales filly) anyways, I'm sure I'd be handing the whole thing over to her!

Fantastic Julie! Thank you for offering to organise this - a brilliant idea! I've never seen any of the Classical Dressage tests and I think they run with different rules to BD? I'm keen to know more about them.
