I am so pleased with D, despite my nerves and her spooks at christmas tree monsters we managed to get 64% in our walk trot test on Sunday!! Not sure who was most suprised D or me!! I had got very worried as she has been a bit lazy of late and I have had to chivvy her along more than is good for me!! ;D I neednt have worried as the adrenaline generated by a huge twinkling Christmas tree with lights and tinsel was enough to send her well and truely forward!! I did get marks deducted for saying "good girl" when she trotted past it the first time and for the monumental spook she put in when she encountered it again the second time! Not sure how I managed to stay on really, must have been the thought of falling off in front of my daughter Verity. I would never have lived it down!!! ;D D tells me there is nothing worse than a Christmas tree monster, they have huge teeth and DEFINATELY are to be avoided!!

Well done!! Brilliant!!
I have to say that although it's the rules, it does seem a bit harsh to deduct points in a walk/trot test for saying "well done" when passing a horse-eating-sparkly-christmas-tree! LOL

Bravo!!!! Well done you two!!! I'm the same, I know its 'rules' but think its a bit harsh to deduct for rewarding D for going past the pony eating Christmas tree...

Congratualtions!!!!! Well done both of you! Christmas trees are VERY dangerous.
I also think it's rather harsh to deduct marks for saying "good girl". A bit of a mean judge! I know it's not allowed but I always talk to my horses through tests and have never been penalised in all thes years, even at Affiliated. You must have been doing so well that the judge was struggling to find something to penalise you on!

Oh Khristyne, well done hun. I am really proud of you and D and think it was rather unfair to deduct marks for praising her for passing such a horrid scary monster.
A very big hug to you and D and very well done to you both.
Love Nikki

There is another one in the new year nikki with your name on it!!!! I'll come and help if you like.
I have to say I would rather lose 2 marks and tell her she is good, afterall, I value her trust much more than a silly bit of red ribbon!! Personally I think the classical riding club of GB has the right Idea, you can talk all you like and even do grandprix tests in snaffles, without spurs.
heres to the next time. One day I will canter!!! (*but not yet!!)

Fantastic news! Really really pleased to hear this - and very impressed with her passing that nasty pony-eating christmas tree!
I hate to think what Merlin would do if we encountered such a monster in a test -unlikely at the moment I know when I'm struggling to get him fit enough and me brave enough just to go for a walk hack (walk test anyone?) but I have visions of him sitting down on his ample backside and refusing to move without a rocket up his backside - and I'm sure I'd lose far more marks for that LOL....

I had marks deducted for an involuntary "yeek!" in a dressage test - so I know they can be strict. 64% is an excellent score - if I said what I feel like saying sometimes we'd end up with a negative score!
