I have been talked into entering the Royal Highland  so I need to get to a couple of shows before then and wondered what I need to do. Will I have to start rugging the boy up as he is very hairy tho it is coming out, what do I feed to shine his coat up, bearing in mind he is 10mths and I dont want to go pumping high protien/energy stuff into him or to force his growth Oh why did I agree to this  im scared ;D |

As far as the rest goes, yes I would rug up to try and get rid of his coat and I use cod liver oil in the feed, gives a great shine to the coat.
Also lots of practise of trotting up and get someone to play "Judge" so he gets used to someone walking around him (William to exception to one lady judges very large blue wedding hat, so you never know !)

How exciting, Shirl - good luck. Kaz's advice is spot on - lots of practice trotting up and standing still and get someone in a skirt to walk around him just in case you get a lady judge on the day.

It would be great if you could come up Sue, the Friday is usually the main M&M day www.royalhighlandshow.org/Kilts - wind doesn't really have much effect but a good birl on the dance floor works quite well  |
