William at Hunter & Lass Show on Sunday

Sorry its took so long to get the photos up, stupid website was playing up

Anyway, we had a great day with William on Sunday at Hunter & Lass. First mum took him in to the large breeds in-hand class, there were 6 in the class and we were really pleased with 2nd so that was a good start. Next Laura took him into the Condition and turnout, again there were 6 in the class and we were really pleased when we got 2nd again. Next was the ridden, well William is getting better each time Laura rides him and canter is still a bit hit and miss, but we were delighted when he cantered with all the rest in the initial go round, even had to overtake at one point ! He had got a bit fed up standing as the class was so large so by the time it came for his individual show he did not canter so were not placed but he had went so well on the go round we were all still really pleased. We make progress all the time and you have got to start some where ! Next time we will work on getting him to canter in his show as well !

Oh well done - brilliant results! You all look very smart in those pics. I can sympathise with you over the ridden. I'm used to dressage where you have a time and so go in when you and your horse are ready but with showing, it can be sooooooooooo difficult if you have to stand in line for ages and then be expected to perform at your best. Well done William!

It is held at Vogrie Country park at Pathhead

Ah bless 'im....I doubt I would have done well to stand about so long, and then been expected to suddenly 'shine'! I think he's done exceedingly well for his first outing of the season for inhand and ridden
