Dunno where to put this either, cos its really a salad!
OK< my mums recipe again. Boy I wish I could be original.
Ive just purchased the best ever mandolin from Lakeland plastics. Its brilliant.
What makes a good coleslaw? Its mostly the sauce.
Sauce for coleslaw: Into a utensil..... holds about a pint, but dont make it to a pint, unless you want MEGGA tonnes of coleslaw sauce.
2 - 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise 2 - 4 tablespoons yoghurt (I use the non fat stuff to reduce calories a bit) 1 teaspoon of a good mustard, English or the whole grain mustard is best.
Mix
COleslaw. Cabbage (hard white one) Carrots Apple Onion (If you wish it, Marjorie hates onion, so I miss it out, but its better with some in it.
Wash and peel all veg. Using the single cutting blade, slice the cabbage VERY VERY thinly, almost to transparancy. Use one apple cut into quarters and slice off transparant thin slivers of this. Use the fine slicer and now make the finely grated carrot. Slice thinly the onion.
Put into a serving bowl. Add the sauce and mix well.
Very good and Very popular.
