A friend of mine who lives near Normanton had her yard broken into yesterday. Three men in a yellow van so if you see it around your place be careful.

She lost the following, they only took the leather and brands so probably pro's

The final tally for the stuff taken (this is the valuable stuff anyhow) if any of you see any of these for sale, please PM me asap!

1 jeffies traditional hunter double bridle with 5" bits &plain reins, good condition, but needing a good clean.
1 jeffries snaffle bridle with 5" bit &reins condition as above
1 jeffries traditional double show bridle with 5" bits and plain reins, just been restitched, as new, with bling browband.
18" made to measure (medium wide ish fit) RYDER show cut saddle, with suede seat, suede is just starting to smooth at the front near the seams, and also the knee roll stitching is very worn and needs replacing. Otherwise in excellent condition
2 sets jeffries traditional double bridle reins, oiled in but unused (spares, horse chews reins all the time!)
1 albion padded leather girth, non elasticated, one end has been repaired, but otherwise mint 50".
1 unbranded balding girth, recently restitched buckles 47.5".
1 unbranded padded atherstone girth mint condition 54"

also, 1 havana manor 16.5" working hunter, very very wide exc condition.
1 extra wide black 16.5 straight cut farrington saddle good condition
1 extra wide havana 18" working hunter farrington good condition
1 wintec gp brown 17.5 inch exc. condition.

If you see for sale anything which matches the descriptions above, please please pm me as soon as possible!

oh, and anything else of value is now locked up in the horsebox which is parked next to the guard dogs kennel!

Good grief that's a lot of stuff! I'd say they certainly knew what they wanted. Wretches I hope their fingers fall off, and that your friend can get her stuff back.

Thanks- Im presuming this is the same yard I heard about being broken into yesterday (ALtofts). If it isnt a yellow van was also used there.

I got the wesy Yorkshire - it was the thack thieves that intrigued me.

Thack in these parts means to hit with a stick - not sure if it comes from threshing (thrashing) or to do with thatching

I got the idea once I read it. Hitting them with a stick would be well deserved though......
