Each time Blossom's gone through a series of teething episodes, I've reached for Hyland's teething tablets. www.hylands.com/products/teething.phpI know Boot's carries these. They've been extremely easy to use. All I do is put 3 to 4 tablets in her bucket...and Blossom gets morning and evening feeds. Since they're homeopathic, all she needs is 3-4 tablets. At her ultimate worst (cheek teeth coming through) she's only needed 5 tablets per feed. I just put the tablets on top of her feed for simplicity sake, but you could just as easily handfeed them, as they're sweet. Teething symptoms of pain, and swelling reduce quickly. Blossom's been a lot happier, and certainly more comfortable through her teething stages with these.

Debs - homeopathic tablets need feeding seperately from feeds, not in them. Just place 4 to 6 tablets or one sachet of powder on a tiny slice of carrot or apple. The substance is on the outside of the tablet and needs to come into contact with the mucous membranes inside the mouth to transfer it. If you put it in feed it will get crunched or swallowed. you canalso dissolve in water and syringe in. You should be able to put tablets in their drinking water but you need to keep stirring this so may not be so effective. A few days treatment should be enough, repeated when needed
th number of tablets is not important, that number means that it does not matter if you drop a couple. If a pony has a very sore time teething you can repeat the dose up to every 10 minutes, the frequency increases the strength - more useful when adminitering arnica etc or especially aconite for shock and for Colocynthis treating colics.
In the UK you get teetha powders in boots which are tiny sachets and very handy. This is actually chamomila which is a handy treatment as it also treats temper tamtrums in small children... when they open mouth to shriek, insert teetha powder!!!

I know better than to feed in the feeds, but with Blossom having soaked beetpulp, it seemed to work exceptionally well. Thanks for the added information Julie
