and bought two of these: www.haybar.co.uk/Product%20info.htmlThe last few weeks I have been in so much pain with my elbow and my hands a combination my GP tells me of tennis elbow and carpel tunnel syndrome, its been so bad its been keeping me awake at night, now I know to some of you it may not seem alot but I fill on average about eight hay nets a day, so I think these will help, I have heard mixed reports about them but on the whole the reports are good, they will be here in about 10 days I can,t waite!

Van, I've got hay bars for all mine. They are a godsend and I love them. The ponies/horses seem to also. The key thing is get the pony size one for anything 15hh and under so they can reach the bottom of the bars.
Sorry to hear about your elbow and hands, though. Take care Jacqui x

I have read about these and even thought about getting one. I wonder how often you would have to fill it, every day, twice a day? Hope your elbows and hands improve.

I've got them for my three Van and they are brilliant. Jodie does tend to use hers as a toilet sometimes but at least has the decency to wait until the hay has all gone! I've had one get pulled off the wall in four years so that's not bad going ;D I really sympathise with your elbow as I have tendonitis in my mucking out arm and it's so painful

Oh I'm soooooooo pleased to read this thread. I've been thinking about getting a haybar for Quest for the last few months. I'm also having to fill 8 haynets a day, 5 of them for Quest, and the slight twising action of filling nets aggrevates my ankle. I've persisted with haynets because I like to know exactly how much hay I'm feeding but enough is enough!
Where did you all get yours from and what are the negative comments you've heard?

I have,nt come across that many negative comments Pam, most people seem really happy with them, as I said it was a struggle last year with my arms and hands, but this year I have just had enough! I ordered them direct from there website as they are more exspensive on ebay and the postage is more aswell.

Well, I'm just about convinced. I had thought it rediculous to buy one when Andy could easily make me something similar but he doesn't have the time right now. He will have to make some stable alterations to fit the haybar as it is.

I got 3 from argo and 1 from Throstle Nest saddlery.
I stuff mine full at night and they usualy have some excess in the morning (I like them to have ad lib at night).
Socks has pulled her bar off twice, but she is a thug and trashes everything. The others have no problems with them.

What about Dales Ponies rubbing their big bums on them? Are they strong enough?
