Fingers crossed for Fusch that she comes sound for you, and oooh, that home for Smartie sounds promising! Did they ever find the root of his troubles? Poor lad, at least you can pop over and give him a cuddle and a carrot. Best of luck with your horse search The best hint I can give you is to let the current owner ride it first while your feet stay safely on the ground. I find it very helpful to guage their reactions to this request (if its a nice, well broke horse, they shouldn't have any problems swinging up), but also to see how the horse interacts with them, and especially how they do under saddle. It also gives me time to evaluate the current saddle fit, and a chance to see the horse moving under saddle ....a good time to look for an unlevelness, and unsoundness issues...and just how well trained is it anyways?

She was sound cantering round this morning, whooooop! Smartie is going on sunday, its sooo strange, a lady rang me saying she was looking for a companion for her old girl, who gets bullied in the field rather badly and now has her in a different field but she doesnt like being on her own, turns out we knew the lady 9years ago, shes still at the same place, same horses etc AND its a 10minute walk from my house so can pop down whenever, but very sad as hes like my best friend.
Have had loads of responces to wanted ads, have about 5 that sound EXTREAMLY promising. two that can with on loan with view to buy, one I can have on trial and the other two can test dummy them alot.
Such a turn over, one of them is extreamly well know in my RC but owner is immegrating (sp).
Hopefully may be some good news on all 3 fronts.

That all sounds very promising. I'm so glad you've found the perfect home for Smartie - funny how these things happen, it was clearly meant to be.

Will you sell Smartie or have him on loan? Either way, having him only a 10 minute walk away with someone you know fairly well is a brilliant set up! You'll still be able to go and say hi to him daily. And the others sound very promising indeed!! So many to choose from
