I was back at the Dr today(about my tum) and she is referring me to the hospital for a endoscopy one of the things I've always worried about having as I'm really not good with things in my throat or round my neck so when the time comes I'll be asking for some of the famous DFs vibes to help me through it

Oh dear Zelda, sending big I've had something similar (I think it was a gastroscopy) - you can have sedatives if you want as understandably a lot of people get worried about it. I chose not to but I think I was in the minority! Try not to get too worried about it (easier said than done I know!), it's worth having as they can see what is going on in your tummy - hopefully, nothing in your case!

Go for sedatives if they offer them!
I recently had x-rays at the dentist, and it was a HUGE thing in my mouth that made me gag a lot. The nurse said keep breathing deeply and swallow if possible - it did help a lot.
At least you will know afterwards what if anything is the problem. Good luck!

Oh poor you. Wise to get it checked out though and it will put your mind at rest. I do know how you feel though; I've never had a procedure like that, thankfully, but I'm also very bad with anything round my throat or neck. Even wearing a scarf in the wrong way can make me want to gag. I'm sure they will offer you some sort of sedative so please do take it. It really will help. Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs.

Zelda my husband has had this done and he said with the sedation it wasn't anywhere near as bad as he had been fearing. Try not to think about it too much until nearer your appointment.

I had a gastroscopy with sedative, but I'd certainly want sedating for an endoscopy. I hope it goes wel Zelda, and you get it sorted.

There is no way I'd have it done without sedation - I told the Dr to put on her letter I wanted triple sedation ;D
Jane I'm the same with dental x-rays my dentist tells me to think crisps and to keep breathing through my nose.
Leann that's good to know, I keep telling myself if my mum could have it done with out sedation when she was in her eighties, I can manage in my fifties with(I hope)

Be sure you do something truly good and distracting in the days leading up to it. I was such the gibbering wreck that Eldon had to practically eject me from the truck to get my second lot of wisdom teeth removed. Thinking about it is far worse, but that's where the distraction racket has to come into play. Otherwise that's all you end up doing

Poor you, Zelda - I'd feel wibbly too if I had to have something down my throat. Did you learn breathing and relaxation techniques when you had the children? I still use them a lot when I'm panic stricken about anything, or in pain.
Let us know when you're going and I'm sure we'll all send loads of DF vibes..........xx
