Our town tends to be very sleepy, so when something happens for the fire brigade, or the ambulance, they set about with all lights going and all sirens blazing. We've just had an occurance up the road from us (no idea what exactly) and so of course the police, firemen, and ambulance have gone flying up the road, lights going and sirens all loud. I went out with binoculars to see if I could spy what was going on and poor Blossom was all sorts of worked up. I stood by her and chatted whilst looking through the binocs. She was only sorta reassured. Then a single goose flew overhead, honking its heart out (because it was all alone). That did it for Blossom Poor girl, she flew out of there with her eyes all wide. Took me quite a bit to get her to calm back down. I could even smell her fear, so she was legitimately scared. She's now decided life will truly be okay. The lights and sirens aren't truly coming into her field to munch her. I think she must've had her head down munching her hay when they came flying by. It must've echoed something awful in her field shelter. Poor baby She thinks Life is okay now, though, and I've left her dutifully munching a fresh flake of hay.

Poor Blossom, what a fright for her. It's only natural to react that way but she sounds like a typical Dales Pony and settled back down to munching her hay pretty quickly.

I just love how she can be happily settled if food is nearby. Life can't be too bad if she's got hay to munch. Poor girl that must've been scary for her!

;D LOL...I think all that nervous energy must've been spent on eating. She was completely out of her hay this morning and starved.

Awww, those things are even scary to humans. I can surely understand why she was frightened!
