I know the majority on this board have beautiful full manes and tails but has anyone tried the Smart mane and tail thinners? I've just bought one as Sooty's tail poses real problems to pull, it has to be pulled as he is clipped and hogged. He is very good to do but we have a re-occurring problem with his dock going scabby after it's beeb pulled. I bought one of these from the local tack shop this morning, I'm a sucker for things on display at the tills! Just been up to Sooty and within minutes his tail was transformed, totally painless and looks very natural. Very pleased with it so far.

I've not used one for ponies, but I've used them in the past on dogs and me! They work brilliantly, and they really are painless. So glad you've found a solution for Sooty's tail.

We used to use one on Buzz, as he was hogged, it made life so much easier and looked suprisingly natural.

www.smartgrooming.co.uk/smart-tails.html Here's a link, been back up and am still really pleased with the look, very natural looking. Poor wee lamb was shivering (it was only lunch time) so I had to let him in early he really is a softy.
