I don't know either of these two, sorry. How exciting about ROse. Has she driven before? Have you thought about a second hand vehicle? A good website to check out is www.dragondriving.co.uk another is carriage link but I'm not sure about that address. www.eskadalesaddlery.co.uk has a sale on Tedex. I love this harness as a reliable basic. Sport has full size except for the breeching seat and the blinkers where he goes down to a cob. I also have a set of zilco which is fabulous but twice the price and not really necessary. Is there a reason for wanting a broller only I bought one from ideal harness and I don't think much of it. There is a piece of piping or something inside the leather at the horse side edge of the collar and the way it is designed or fits sporty this comes into contact with him when he is in draft. It is really hard and thin and all the padding is wasted as a lot of the weight ends up on this hard bit. (Sorry not very clear) In essence instead of spreading the weight over a larger area it is all on this rather thin bit which must be uncomfortable. Anyway I am looking forward to seeing some pics. Rose has a gorgeous head..

heather, I have seen her demo too, she is amazing!! She will inspire you. If I were closer I would go too!! She is not in the least scary, she loves her sport and her horses and I have never heard anything bad about her.

I think Amanda Saville is doing some demonstrations or/and a weekend course at Greenlands Equestrian centre near Carlisle in Cumbria. I am sure I read about it in the local paper.Details may be on Greenlands web site. I believe too that she bought my mares foal from her previous owner.

Heather that sounds like a wonderful time!!! I knew you would enjoy it. There is something so fab about driving, I can't put it into words but it is just magic. I saw one of Amanda's demos and her sheer enthusiasm for her sport was partly what prompted me to go into the driving thing. Both she and her ponies were having a blast during the demo.
Enjoy your long lining - be prepared to do giant strides when Rose trots LOL! One thing that was suggested to me was to long line with a roller on, with the reins through the top rings to mimic the turrets on the harness, so you and the horse get used to the angle of the reins. Also keep your hands UP - I was happily long lining with my hands at my waist height, but the driver who showed me the ropes had her hands much higher.
I got my harness from Andrew May, I don't know how close he is to you, I think he has moved since I bought mine. He was extremely helpful and not pushy at all.
