Mickey was borrowed a while ago to have a paddock alongside the stallion as he is quiet and will live alone. I did wonder how he'd be on his own- he loves it. No fighting to be top dog, waiting at the gate to be 1st in etc. He doesnt usually need a headcollar in the morning- he goes straight to his field. Yeti has, however, been a monster. He always turns into a complete idiot (polite!!!) this week every year. No idea why- but he always ends up having a couple of weeks solitary confinement. Only this year there isnt a spare paddock so he has been put in with Mickey Mickey is disgusted at sharing a paddock and has very quickly put Yeti in line. Yeti isnt allowed a carrot from me unless Mickey has a pile to keep him occupied and even that isnt always enough as Mickey gave him a good belt for daring to go near his gate. Thankfully Mix has no back shoes and yeti's a lot faster Needless to say Yeti has impeccable field manners at the mo and will go back out with the herd in the near future.

I also have another plan.... Mickey decided to escape today for extra grass. His weight is still an issue and he looked annoyed when I rode Yeti. So... Im thinking of ride and lead for a steady walk. Bets on how far from the yard we get?

Yeti'll keep out of his way and I'm hoping that despite being OTT in the field he always used to be perfect to hack out... Daren't lead him out in hand as he decided vertical was the way forward last time He's also fine to turn out both together- he doesnt let fly until headcollars are removed so hoping he is the same. I can see me ending up having to swap and ride him bareback back and lead yeti though..

I havent had a go yet- did a lot with Yeti yesterday and then hopped on Mickey and took him for a ride to the gate and back, and then sat on him whilst he grazed. Will do it though when I got chance
