She did me proud tonight. I had a couple of young Mormon 'elders' on the doorstep tonight attempting to convert me. Ah fat chance that's going to happen but they were trying their hardest. As a grab to keep me talking, they mentioned seeing Blossom, and thought she was awfully friendly and could they pet her? Sure not a problem. Threw on coat and wellies and out we went to the gate. Blossom took an instant liking to the red haired fellow, but the other chap she was a touch nervous about. When he attempted to pet her cheek, she drew back sharply (unusual for her) and he drew back even faster. Ahhh...the lightbulb moment. So I set about explaining that she was a prey animal and that horses and ponies pick up on our feelings and if he was afraid of her, she'd worry that something was going to get her. She came forward again (way to go Blossom!!) and he tried again, and bless her heart, she stood rock solid for him. She also almost got the button off the other lad's coat before I could see what was happening, but the skittish chap admitted she was the first pony he'd ever petted. Awwwhhh...well done! Makes me so proud of Blossom.

Blossom is too nice! We get Jehovah's Witnesses trying to sell us their magazine. Some are fine, nice people, but some are a bit pushy. Brian the attack gander usually gets rid of them pretty quickly. He prefers FLESH to buttons !
Glad Blossom was a good ambassador for the breed.

If they'd been Jehovah's witnesses, they would've seen a different side of me The Jehovah's have always been too aggressive in my opinion. A flesh eating goose would be perfect! At least these lads were being polite, and seemed genuinely interested in learning more. ;D Yes, I'd say Blossom ended up converting them!

I must admit I am totally evil when it comes to unwanted knocks on the door.

That was kind of Blossom!!
I have noticed Jehovohs up the lane, targeting the big houses, but they don't venture over the track, thank goodness. Probably the noisy dogs put them off.

I'm amazed at how young these Mormon "elders" are! How on earth can they have got enough experience of life, love and God to be wise enough to be called "elders" Good for Blossom - what a star! I used to live next door to a Jehovah's Witness couple - very strange. When they informed me that my two-week old baby was "steeped in sin" I'm afraid they lost any credibility they might have had for me (and that was hardly any to start with!!)
