Lovely thread! All the expectant mummies are looking beautiful!! Amy has about 10 weeks to go (mid June) but is looking rotund and has a "FEED ME NOW" and "don't mess with me" head on already! LOL! I have felt the little one galloping about so I'm pretty sure it's not just wind! I must say I am getting nervous already (as we are both first time mums) so it's really great hearing what people are doing so please keep posting even if it's old hat to some of you. Cadeby I love the look of your stabling (?) can you post some more piccies for me please? I am hoping to build an open barn for my lot this year but want it as multi-functional as possible. The triangle underneath is fascinating. Did someone say you can guess the foal's sex by where it's carried? Got to stop, I'm getting too nervous! LOL! Isn't Doris getting paler?

Fab pics ;D Lucy...Yes there's a theory that if the mare is holding the foal low/deep it's a filly ;D If it's a filly Fiona (the triangular one) will get a big kiss and extra dinner! If it's a colt, I'll stuff it back in, lol! Only kidding, healthy mares and foals is all we want really..... Lucydales - had to laugh that you like our stables. It used to be a pig-rearing unit and we have spent seemingly hundreds of hours demolishing internal piglet houses and concreting the floors. They're still not finished to how we want them, but basically it's a series of nine 12ft bays, with metal field gates on the fronts. The building itself is made out of single thickness, reinforced concrete blocks with a single-pitch sloping roof. We have made four of the bays into double-sized foaling boxes and these have plywood panels on the gates for safety. I have some photos of Taz exploring our trailer parked outside the stables, so I'll have a look tomorrow and see if they show the building more clearly Doris is gorgeous. Who's the prospective Daddy? Helen.

Thank you all!
Perhaps we should run a book on what each mare is having based on the photos??!
Isn't Doris getting paler?
NOOOOOO - don't say that!!!!! glad to hear amy is doing ok, doris also has also turned into a "don't mess with me" pony who spends a lot of time giving the rest of them evils looks and boots them if they get too close, hope I get my loving, bottom of the pile doris back when it's all over.. Helen, I also love your stabling, exactly what I am aiming for in a couple of years! Doris is in foal to Waterside Jack (owned by my dad!)

Alison, Doris looks amazing and so slim too! I can't wait to see her foalette! Helen, my Diana looks just like Becky! Maiden mare with good covering (Alison, Diana is due at the end of May, it was Maddie who was due at the same time as Doris.)
