I have just spoken to my friend Kathryn who does animal healing, and she will send Curly some healing vibes. Also she said rescue remedy dabbed on Curlys tongue will calm him in this stressful time - and you could take some too - chemist do it, and also seen it in Tesco with the medicines. Kathryn also suggested crab apple remedy dropped on the tongue too, as this has cleansing properties. She is very good at these things, and said none will harm Curly, or interfere with vet treatment.
I have a book on herbal treatments for horses, but it is packed away with me moving. Does anyone else have a book on herbs for horses, as I am sure there was a remedy for toxins in the liver.

My heart goes out to you, I understand how you feel when you say you can't put him thru any more, it brings back terriblt memories of losing duke last year. whatever happens or you decide it will be the best thing. Take care

Tina,
I just wanted to say that I hope that Curly is turning the corner after the terrible few days you both have had. He must be a complete saint to be so good throughout this.
Th only place I know who have liver type remedies for ths degree of seriousness is Ainsworths homeopathic pharmacy in London. They have helped horses recover from grass sickness.
Sending best wishes to both of you.

I think we have turned the corner! This morning he looks slightly brighter and more alert. He stood patiently while i put the 6 injections in! He is eating carrots and apples and has had a few mouthfulls of hay. Unfortunately he has also developed ulcers on his corneas, vet has given me some ointment for these and told me it is also caused by toxins, his tongue and gums are still the horrible raspberry colour which is not a good sign, but, I am praying that the fact that he seems more interested in his surroundings are a good sign. Thank you again to you all, it is helping me a lot. Going back out now, the barn has become home from home these days, and looks just as messy as my house lol.... Will post again tonight.

Good to hear thinks are looking more hopeful for Curly. He is such a good boy having all those injections, I dread to think what Molly would be like.
