Tina
Only just caught up with this thread, willing that things carry on improving, you must be exhausted.
I wish there were more horse owners who cared as much for their animals, it sounds as if you have total trust in each other
Wishing you all the very best

slight rollercoaster of a day today! I thought that the fact his tongue looked a better colour, he is eating a little and is more alert was all a good sign. Phoned the vet to update, she wanted to check anyway, took samples from abdomen again and bloods, the samples were still mud coloured and the bloods have shown extremely high liver enzymes? The only course of action is to continue on the 2 lots of antibiotics and the pain killers and anti inflammatories and hope! The canular in his neck is making life easier, less stress for Curly when I am giving all the meds. plus easy for vet to take bloods. Of all the horses and ponies I have ever owned Curly is my total soulmate. I know that may sound sad to some but its true, he probably knows more about me than OH LOL..... I dont honestly care if I never ride him again, he can be a total field ornament, I am sure we can make up enough games to keep him happy and occupied, just want him to live! He is only just 16 so should have years ahead of him..... Going back out again, trying to get him to eat the piles of beet and fruit I bought today. Will let you know how the night goes, please keep the vibes coming.....

You can be assured that we will keep those vibes coming. Curly is obviously fighting too .....hopefully he will improve again and turn another corner.
Have you thought about ringing Hilton Herbs - they may be able to suggest a product of theirs that may help. I have used their stuff on my old ponies and seen good results.

Plenty more healing vibes coming your way. You and Curly are on my mind all the time. He is a real fighter and couldn't have a more caring and dedicated Mum.

Curly seems a little more settled today, so so tired looking, he has not laid down at all now for over a week, he is managing to eat bit of hay and likes fruit. He is also drinking quite a bit. Now I have a different concern, nothing is coming out the other end! If there is no droppings tonight I will ring vet in the morning. It was very humid today and he was sweating badly, so I gave him nice washdown with warm water and ginsing which he seemed to enjoy. I am in mixed emotions right now, I keep thinking maybe I am being optimistic in hoping that he is better than he actually is, but, I think if he is going to pull through its going to be a very long hard haul.... He is a fighter and thats partially what I love about him, everything is done in copious amounts and life is definately for having fun. Hope its enough to pull him through this time. Will keep you posted and thank you again for all your prayers.....

Relieved to hear he is still holding his own and still fighting. You are both very much in my thoughts and prayers.

I've only just seen this Tina, what a dreadful nightmare for you all.
I hope Curly is still improving and eating, and hope he has managed a poo.
Sending strength to you all xx
