Oh no, poor Celt She's not used to having to defend herself. She's always had heavy-mob protection from her Percheron Granny Cadeby, our herd leader! I take back all those nice comments I made about handsome Uncle Isaac. Hope they settle down soon and she gets at least one friend. Choc looks kind? Otherwise I shall have to despatch Taz so they can at least be Billy-no-mates together She seems to be growing quite a beard for the english winter. I should have sent her with some Immac cream

Poor Celt! Take her back home Helen, you read what Lucy has in store for her, beating her and letting children annoy her. Then threatening you with an empty fizz bottle when you go to get her

Brought Choc in for some tea this evening and snook Celt away from the others to have some oils. She had a bit of rose abs, yarrow, neroli and linden blossom, and some yarrow on the bite on her shoulder, and a big cuddle!
What is it with my Dales? They all grow big beards, even little Tim!
Choc does can't really be bothered and is really in love with Pants (though she is horrible to him!) but is a bit miffed at the moment because she has been usurped by the baby! So maybe she will pal up with Celt. We'll keep Taz as the back stop option!
I do hope it all settles down soon, I hate this phase! She sends you lots of love Helen!

We'll keep Taz as the back stop option! Taz is suicidal at the thought. He's a gentle boy and a total pacifist. He wouldn't last 5 minutes I'm sure they'll sort it out soon. In the meantime, maybe you should leave the entire apothecary of essential oils in the field for her At least the humans are kind to her.......

"The way we were!" A reminder of the days when poor little Celt had friends L-R Taz, Flint's bum, Cadeby, Celt and Roo. A mass love-in Cadeby says she is en-route to bulldoze Isaac

I can't believe the (comparitive) size of Cadeby's head!! I'm sure Isaac would have a go at world domination but not sure he would win with Cadeby this time! Celt and Choc seem to have spent the whole night at the middle field gate! Celt has had a big bowl of chaff and carrots whilst Choc has had her tea and breakfast as I'm feeling sorry for her, and her world has brightened up considerably!! ;D (It's not my intention to feed her normally unless her ribs are showing!) Choc just puts her ears back and pulls rude faces (she does that to all my others as well!) but nothing else so they are okay within half a dozen yards of each other. I am pondering putting them back in with the others today now that isaac's been in the field with lots of grass and seeing if they are any better behaved. I could also put a grazing muzzle on Isaac to prevent his option to try and bite and to give him something else to think about!! It was a foul night last night, loads of rain. Poor little Celt must think she's ended up in hell! She was shivering this morning. This week has given cold but hopefully drier. Oh! Who is it behind Roo? I spy an extra bum and leg??!! It's a great pic, I hope I'll be able to send you a similar one in the not too distant future!

Well, I'm on Plan B, thanks to my lovely husband! I've left Choc and Celt together and not re-introduced the others. They were still standing by the gate to the others but much closer together! So I've taken down a fence in the top field and given them access to the "foggage". Choc thinks it is her birthday!! No spassy boys, and loads of food!! I am going to leave them together for a few days, then add Vanty for a few days before i try again with the others. Celt made me laugh, she made a bee-line to a thistle patch and stuffed as many green thistles into her mouth as she could get! Do you have thistles in France, Helen. and is it their staple diet??!! Anyway, a few pics so you don't feel so down-hearted! Hello, Mummy! I've nearly got a friend! Now who's billy no mates standing at the gate?? I've found this lovely stuff to roll in, Choc says it's called MUD!No ribs showing yet, Helen!

Oh! Who is it behind Roo? I spy an extra bum and leg??!! That's Gem, Celt's momma. We do have a few thistles but Celt's never shown much interest in them unless they've been cut down. My donkeys love them though and make excellent paddock cleaners so perhaps Celt is trying to fit in by copying them and being helpful She looks a lot happier - the wary look seems to have gone from her eye We don't do mud in France though, until at least December Cadeby does have an enormous head - Percherons have massively deep, round cheeks - all the better as a battering ram for dealing with miscreant Isaacs!

Harley sometimes makesabeeline for thistles, and other times cleavers and cow parsley - maybe Celt is finding something she needs in them.....or maybe she'sstoring up the spikes to stick in the other ponies!
I'm glad things are calmer with the new regime!
