Does anyone have a pair?? What do you think of them and good and bad reports please.
Also do they keep you feet warmer in cold weather compared to other boots??
Also do you think they are smart enough for hunting. After have very, very cold feet last Saturday i am looking at all my options.
Not even sure they will fit, but if good reports i will order a pair to try.

I have a pair of High Rider Sportive (sp) and they're fab. They're slimmer in the leg than the High Rider and shaped at the top. I think the foot has a slimmer profile as well.
Yes, they keep my feet warm - I can't remember ever having had cold feet wearing them - and yet I wear them comfortably in summer too. They're roomy enough to wear thicker sox in winter. I've worn them to show in and do unaffiliated dressage. I'd definitely buy another pair.
On the downside - they took quite a while to wear in and bruised the back of my knee quite badly the first time I wore them. They came with some heel risers that you put inside the boot to lift the heel a bit and reduce the rubbing - and they were useful. I did find, though, that if I kept my heel well down when riding they didn't rub - so it was a good reminder to me to improve my leg position LOL.
Now they're worn in though, they're the most comfortable boots I've ever owned and I dread them wearing out - although they're showing no sign yet and I've worn them to ride in for three years. They polish up really well too.....

I have both the high rider ll and the sportive high rider and I love both of them, the ones Sue are talking about are a much neater boot and I have shown and hunted in them, they have been warm and comfy, the sportive do take a bit longer to break in, but I can,t say I have had a problem with either of them.

I've got the sportive high riders too. I wanted a boot chunky enough for every day use and also smart enough for the very odd show I did. They are VERY hard to break in but are marvellous once you have done that. Warm, comfy and secure. I tend to wear my Tyne muck boots for jobs round the yard and to ride in on mucky days. They are VERY warm and comfy too.

Thanks everyone. I couldn't get the Sportive ones in short and wide, so got the High rider II and went cubbing this morning, no worries about not breaking them in, they are great, really pleased. Yes, the stirrup balance thing is amazing.

I have jusr ordered my 2nd pair. The first pair have lasted 8 years and are still wearable. I just couldn't resist a black pair in the sales - I love these boots and think they are fantastic to ride in.

I know Sue loves hers.

I'm certain that I bought my boots about 2 years before I had Sam because I was having riding lessons in them. I've had Sam 6 years now (can you believe it!). I'm still wearing them for riding and they are fantastically comfortable. The roomy toes have saved my toes from being broken a couple of times as I've been able to scrunch my toes up when Sam has trodden on my feet! LOL I just love these boots - expensive but well worth the money (although I seem to remember Gill has a boot that makes a squeaky sound when she walks! ) ROFL.

LOL Caroline, they still squeaked all the time I had them! They faded quite badly (not helped by me not looking after them properly) and the back zip went .Drove me mad in the end so I ordered a black pair that were reduced to £80 just before Christmas (which Dave kindly paid for as a present). They are actually too big for me in the leg as they only had wide fit in my size but it means I can wear two pairs of socks lol. AND, most importantly they don't squeak ;D They are very generous in the foot size.

I am trying to "wear in" my new mountain horse Hi Rider boots. I had fogotton how uncomfortable they were to start with, there's a seam that's rubbing right on my shin! I'm tempted to revert back to my eight year old comfy pair but NO, I must be strong - no pain, no gain.........
