Glad Tim is much better. Try not to fret too much Lucy. Tim will settle down in a few days and will bond with one of the boys - probably Vanty As you know, resorting to lots of baby-yapping at weaning is totally natural. He's realised that he has to "tread carefully" and regressing to "feeble foal, please don't kill me" is the standard strategy Don't let the weaning process put you off having future foals. A few days of stress is a very small amount of time in the expected lifetime of a pony. Have a look back through Tim's photos and remind yourself of the pleasure he's brought to you. I'm sure you'll feel differently after a good sleep

Only just seen this - what a crap few days you've been through but thank God Tim is OK now. Helen's right, don't let a few stressful days detract from all the joy and happy times you've had over the last year. I know weaning can be a very anxious time - more so for you than the ponies though I suspect. I let all the anxiety stop me from wanting to breed again but I know you won't be that silly! How is Tim this morning?

Oh Lucy! Only just seen this. So very glad that Tim is over his colic but I do feel for you. If I was with you I would give you the biggest hug. Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning. I promise you that all this will fade in your memory and you will remember all the good bits. I haven't any experience of foals but my kids have sure put me through it in the past! Hugs, hugs, and more hugs!

All calm after the storm, thanks! I slept like a log last night! Girlies were all fine and came charging in for breakfast. Poor Amy's udder looks like a space hopper and she's on reduced rations and no carrots how mean is that??! (Vet said the northern folk reckon carrots stimulate milk production though she can't find any evidence for that!) Boys ignored me and stayed at the other end of their field until they spotted the carrot bag!! So at least I've seen them have a good gallop! No one lame then! Someone had sh*t in the water barrel, not the brightest bunch, hey?! They all blamed Tim who did his best "Who? Me?" face! Damien was being mean and Pants has taken a snappy baby under his wing, "go on then, share my carrots"!! Tigger has nearly got his bounce back! It's a pants day, high winds and showers so not nice to be out! I couldn't get the field shelter down to the far field as it's only got a 10' gate and the 12' one is unpassable with the tractor at the moment so the boys will have to tough it out! Isaac and Vanty could do with showing a rib before the grass starts in earnest anyway. No point in putting out hay as it will just blow away! I was going to take Amy for a little ride but she is now very wet and muddy (she must have known!) Got over pony problems and now have a poorly OH, he's got a jaw/head inflammation (and I thought he was being a wimp! ) and has had to have some blood tests to see what's going on. Poor chap has gone back to bed with some prescription pain killers! It's one thing after another!

Good grief, what a time you've had!
Thank goodness Tim is OK now, poor H, hope they get to the root of the problem and sort him out too.
Award yourself a large glass of something alcoholic - you deserve it!

One's more interested in getting his kn*b out than the other, Zelda! It's the bigger one of the two! I'll leave it to your imagination which one's which!
Both are feeling better thank you, and Amy's udder is going down a little, yay!!
