Connie in need of more vibes...... Updated

I haven't posted about Connie for a while...the fact is she is still having to go back to the vets 3 times per week [last week 4]

The last small patch of fungus is proving terribly difficult to treat and to make things more difficult I have had to change to a different vet as my original one has his father very ill in hospital and isn't at work.

I am starting to fear that I won't be able to rid her of this fungus completely and that it will spread again over time and we will be back to square one.

Connie is thankfully unaware of all the worry and stress and is enjoying having an enforced holiday from being ridden...she is turned out twice a day on a small patch of grass and has been so good at loading in the trailer at 7-30am 3 times a week even though she knows where she is going and what they will do.

I am only insured for £5000 per illness and I must have hit that by now...I don't know how much more of my own money I can throw at her when we don't seem to be getting anywhere

Could I PLEASE beg some more of your Dalesfans "good vibes" as I know they helped her pull through the major operation...
I'm also aware that I am not the only person on here with sick animals and feel awful having to ask for some help again but I am sooooo tired and can't really bear the thought of not having her.

Well today we tried the powder treatment on it instead of the liquid which has been used in the past...hopefully this will stick better to the actual patch of fungus rather than just coat everything and then run out tof the nostril

There was one funny moment when the four of us it took to treat her had finished we all started putting the equiptment down and when we looked up the vet had white powder all over his face lol

Zelda I am giving Connie homeopathic remedies too...I feel a bit like Harry Potter mixing in all these potions and pills into her feed but I am desperate.

I would have been tempted to leave the vet like that too ;D At least he won't have to worry about fungus outbreaks on his face.

I'll continue to keep the positive vibes winging Connie's way. I'm hoping this new form of treatment might stick better, stay longer and get it all shifted for good. Connies' had 11 years of the best of care, and love she could ever have. I hope it continues for many, many, many years more.

Zelda thats interesting about the Neem and tree bark...The powder he is using is prescribed for athletes foot!!! He said. it was called something beginning with D.. [I'm sorry I can't remember.
I wonder if Emily knows what it could be?
