I "WAS" (now got jelly legs ) thinking of doing a PURE-Novice class BUT looking at some of the previous result lists I now think it's a bad idea Is this class for T R U E novices, 1st timers, amateurs or is it for next seasons produced ponies Anyone know

nooo do it!! It really is for proper true novices, especially this time of year even more so. In the new year you will get some produced 4 year olds (if that makes sense) but not many, it really is a great class for TRUE novices.

Is this the NPS Autumn Festival on the 13th? We're taking our 4 year old for the pure novice and probably the novice class

Can I just you clever peeps in the know . . . . . . . how "polished" do the judges expect you to be in "Pure-Novice"? should you have a consistant outline in all paces, are you allowed canter lead mis-haps; I really don't think we're ready

Just go for it WDF! They are genuine novices and you'll have a whole range of standards from a pretty polsihed attempt to a very green novice with little outline and no canter, its like the pictons you get a whole range of abilities but it does give you a good benchmark to work too. Just treat it as a good FUN experience and learning for both you and your pony. Honestly, it'll be fine

Just go for it WDF! Honestly, it'll be fine Oh I wish I had your confidence I rarely do showing as tend to stick to dressage, this outing may just convince me to stay with what I know If I can come away knowing we've done our best with NO temper tantrums I'll be one happy bunny

How did you get on yesterday? We didn't take our 4 year old in the end, instead went to cheer a friend on in the last Olympia qualifier of the year. Think we might have parked near to you (with the big blue horsebox)

The blue box with a side ramp, 2 King Charles's next to a silver 4x4 & Ifor trailer IF YES THEN . . . . . aye that was us squished up on the end OMG I was dreading getting Doc off & walking him upto the arenas as he doesn't do "traffic" very well BUT thankfully he was in a nice mood and was VERY GOOD, to the degree that I didn't use the chiffney AT ALL (all the summer outings to shows & walking round the car parks must be paying off!). I only ended up doing the In-Hand as chickened out of the ridden as Doc became a little uperty "Rabbit in Headlights" whilst waiting for the In-Hand when he saw all the ponies warming up, I'd have N E V E R stayed on board and we'd have ended up fighting Considering how he used to be back in April I was SOOOO proud of him and even tho we came last (4th) he's manners & behaviour were a marked improvement upon our last outing Disapointed that I didn't ride but wanted to end the day on a good note, which we did as he stood beautifully to have his boots & tail wrapped - he's never done that before, have in the past had to get others to help keep him still he swings sooooo much PLUS within a few moments he loaded, again NO chiffney in site How did your friend do, was it the highland being tacked up as we were leaving

Ahh yeah that's right, I thought that was you and Doc ;D I'm not surprised you were proud, he looked great. Going and enjoying yourself is all that matters, the pure novice class was pretty huge wasn't it? I think it was bigger than the novice class. Just taking a pony to a show like that is really good experience and it sounds like you had a really good day Yeah it was the highland Stunning isn't he? They did really well and won the fells/dales/highland section then went reserve to Sam Roberts with her sec B. soooo close! It was a shame there weren't any dales in that class though

Yeah it was the highland Stunning isn't he? My OH commented on how nice he was , welldone to them upon their achievement The Highlands appeared to be really well represented, were there ANY Dales I think there were only a handfull of Fells & of course Welsh in abundance, we overheard that many had only come as the Welsh Medal show was the following day & they were all staying over
