Jet is 14hh and as they say good things come in small packages and in Jets case i couldn't agree more Also getting back to the height thing i think you will find Woody will be fine as Dayzee is full sister to your Woody being out of Jet (14.hh) and Rainbow (14.1/2hh) and she is just turned 3 and when we were down there back in July she was at least 14.2hh and at only 3 i am guessing she will ever carry on going up a tiny bit or will now start going outwards but ever way she is a good 14.2hh at 3 so being as Woody is only 4 i think he will make the height you hope for in time. This is Dayzee back in July learning to lunge. Tina you should post a recent picture of Woody also as be great to see how alike they are being as they are full siblings.

Hi, Fancy seeing a picture of Dayzee in here, I have been to see here last month when I was looking for a new pony. She is absolutely lovely, and I agree with peggyloo, she is a big girl, would have estimated her at 14.2, 14.3. Sadly she was not for me, on the way to meet her I walked past Akehurst Proud Peter, and that was it, I bought him straight away Peter is also by Lowhouses Jet, and there is definitely nothing small about him, he must be 15hh already and he is still growing! I guess that is the fun of breeding, you can weigh up all the odds and carefully match the lines, but you are never quite sure if the result will turn out the way you wanted it to. Cheers

I really think its a combination of things. It would be interesting to hear if Woody and Dayzee were raised on similar grass, hay and concentrates. I'm curious if they have the same protein profiles for the feeds. Dayzee is lovely.

Debbie, They were both owned, bred and brought up by Delia until Tina brought Woody from her (as a yearling i think, but Tina could confirm) so would have had exactly the same upbringing until Tina brought her guy. Would be great if Tina posted pics of him as be interesting to compare how alike they are.
Infact i may start a seperate thread for people to post pics of full siblings on as i find it so interesting how ponies can be full sisters/brothers and be none alike.
Edited to say Dayzee is for sale Debbie ;D

Comparing full siblings is interesting. My mare Gem (Manorian Moonstone) has had three foals, all to my stallion Wilf (thornville Pride) so they are full siblings. They have all had exactly the same feed & management routine and Gem has had exactly the same feed & management routine during her pregnancies. Gem is 14.1hh. Wilf is 14 1/2 hh. Celt, the first born (and the only filly) is the smallest. Lucy thinks she just about scrapes 14HH. She's 4 years old. Talisman, kept entire, and now in the USA is 3 years old. He is expected to make 14.1 - 14.2hh. Vanguard, gelded as a yearling, is going to be the tallest. He's 14hh now aged 18 months and should make 14.2hh or slightly over. Think this proves there's luck involved aswell as genetics and management. That's part of the excitement of breeding - you never really know what you're going to get I think people can get too hung up over height issues, when it's really conformation, temperament and being fit for purpose that is most important. Incidentally, the 2 tallest foals I have bred (Viking and Apollo) are both out of my Akehurst mare

LOL, according to Blossom Dayzee will remain for sale, or at the very least not come to her home Did I mention Blossom's a bit of a 'one pony/one Debbie' type? She is, very very loyal And rather evil to other ponies near her mummy
