Hi Alison, just wondering if you knew how far the route was? Just trying to decide if it will be too much for a baby mare.

Anna - I'd be more than happy to lead a walk/trot shorter route with a group who don't want to do fast work or a long hack. What I have in mind is calm, easy and companionable. Provided Bea's back is better....

Anna, the length of the normal ride, the xc route but able to bypass jumps, is a circular 7 miles, but as sue says we will have a baby version too
Pam, would be great to see you and Harvs

Thanks Alison/Sue, we don't want to split the group or anything so I will talk to Jill (who is bringing said baby mare) and decide. We can happily stick a different pony in, just good education for the mare. She's fine with w/t/c in a group etc, just still has fitness to build up.

Thanks Alison, looking forward to it. Is Escrick easy to find? I'll just sat-nav it but just in case its got any decieving entrances or anything?

The main gates into the Park can be found on the A19, just south of Escrick between York and Selby and opposite the B-road turning signposted to Stillingfleet. If you’re using SatNav use the postcode YO19 6EA. This should take you directly to the Estate Office.
How many people have I got for the walk/trot hack?

Thanks Alison. I will be there with Harvey unless the weather is atrocious. Sue, as you know, I will be joining you for the slower ride. Looking forward.

I would have loved to come but Saturn is just not fit enough yet. He is tired after a two hour ride and the travelling on top would be too much. Have fun everyone!

I'm still hoping to come but see the forecast is thick fog Sunday morning. It's a 1 3/4 hour drive for me to get there and don't know whether it would be silly to risk it in fog. I've been so looking forward to this ride. Gave Harvey a good gallop yesterday so he won't be too silly Sunday and have been hacking loads to get him fit.........

Fog is a dilemma Pam but if anything like last few mornings here its burned off quite quickly. Sue - I would lie to join you for the walk/trot version please. Michael is hoping to come and share Joanne too if that's ok. Neither of us have ridden for years amd I was never that good. Oh dear - I am not painting an inviting picture for you am I?

Do we have a plan in case the ride has to be called off? I know forecasts change very quicklyu but at the moment the Met Office is saying thick fog and very poor visibility from 7AM to 1PM in the York area and I think also in Alison's area. It's forecast bright sun in the LIncolnshire Wolds tomorrow........

All I can do at the moment is check the forcast here last thing tonight, and rely on Sue to keep us updated about the weather in York.
If anyone wants to pm me I will send them my mobile no so we can keep updated by text
