I could say Christmas lunch, or Christmas dinner but it depends what time you eat. What are you all having??
We don't eat until the evening when all of the ponies are sorted out.
This year we are having roast loin of pork, from Jimmy's Farm and roast turkey breast and everything else you have with those things.

We are having roast goose and all the trimmings followed by Xmas pud for Mike and sticky toffee pudding for me as I'm not so keen on Xmas pudding. We also will eat in the evening so I hope to get a ride in on Christmas morning if the weather allows.

Roast goose for us too! I collected it on Saturday from Sheila (Jaycee on here) and have been watching her geese grow from tiny chicks since April. Sounds harsh but at least we know they've had a good life and couldn'thave been better cared for.

Roast chicken and boiled ham with veg spuds and yorkshires followed by sticky toffee pudding and I think Sara is doing the cooking this year

Depends what M&S deliver!  Roger and I are going to my brother and his family on Christmas day, my sister and her family will be there too and, as they will be working until 5pm tomorrow (Christmas Eve), the entire meal is on order from M&S. I'm sure it will be delicious and certainly the company will be good, so we're looking forward to a great day. |

we are having turkey for Christmas.I am cooking venison for Christmas eve, I have never had this and I am not telling my boys or mum what it is lol.Anna cooked a really good whole salmon en croute stuffed with wilted spinach and peppers last night.it was lovely.I made individual ginger cheesecakes for pudding which were interesting

Capon for us, with all veg from the garden except the tatties, with yorkshire puds. We'll have smoked salmon, cheese and pate with crisps and dips through the day for snacking. We usually don't have room for pudding but have Christmas pud in the cupboard in case we're still hungry :-)
We usually eat about 4.30, once all the beasties are fed. All Mike's jobs are at home this year, but I have to drive to mine so pretty much teetotal until they're all done!

very traditional turkey and all the trimmings followed by Christmas pud. At least I've remembered to collect the turkey this year a couple of years ago I remembered about it at 12.30am. Luckily the farmer where I get it kept it safe and I collected it Christmas morning after turning Kez out. I should have asked him to pop it into his aga for me!  Merry Christmas everyone! |

We had cheese and crackers as we haven't had a working cooker for two weeks now. Thankfully, after a day of painting, plumbing and reconnecting of gas, we have a working cooker today so will have our first, proper cooked meal at home in a while.
Today is bathroom day, we had to cope with a few days of being reliant on a compost loo but managed to reconnect the normal one pretty quickly. We're aiming to have the bath back in by tonight which will be bliss, washing long hair in a hand basin isn't much fun when you have a crooked back.
It really hasn't been Christmas at all for us, I've sat here on the outside watching everyone else have it and it was like any other day for us. M and I have each other though and that's what's important.
Renovations will be worth it too, we think our heating bills will halve!

At least all you DFs (or at least those who have posted on here) have electricity. Spare a thought for all those thousands who were powerless and/or flooded - they will surely have had a terrible Christmas.
We had black norfolk turkey outside-reared by a friend with all the trimmings, followed by an excellent Christmas Sainsbury's pudding. Still have not started my home-made Christmas cake!

Yes it must have been miserable without power or not being in your own home due to flooding at this time of year, when I see the reports on TV I always think how lucky we are here not to get the real extremes of weather, it puts it in perspective when I'm winging about being up to my armpits in mud in the fields.
