I love them too! My Tack ones are getting a bit long in the tooth now after 4-5 years and have no grip as said, also not safe for riding in as no heel. The Tynes are great for winter riding but I find them slightly long in the leg being a short-ar*e!! (5'1 1/5" ) The slip on joddy boots are great too!

I agree about the grip - or lack of!! Had some hairy moments on frosty mornings!! Also climbing over line wire fences is dodgy, they slide along at great speed!!! Apart from that, they are fantastic. So warm and easy to get on and off.
Slip on joddy boots might be the next investment..........

I noticed today that my muck boots have split. This is my third pair, the last two pairs split in the same place.

Where have they split? I've had 3 pairs replaced because of them splitting at the neoprene rubber join. This was a fault of the earlier models and the manufacturers will replace them for free.

My boots have also split where the neoprene joins the rubber. This is my 3rd pair. Each pair have been replaced free. I don't know what causes this.

I was told it was because the glue used to stick the neoprene to the rubber didn't work well because of the coating used on the rubber to make the boot look smarter. They now don't use this coating, hence the duller look of the boot and also, the neoprene/rubber join is higher up so water is less likely to affect the glue at the join. My current pair (number 5 I think) have been fine.

I will examine mine regularly for splits - but so far, so good.

Does anyone know if the slightly heavier model with the deeper tread has the same width in the leg? I love my boots but they really have no grip left.

Joe had just bought the Esk muck boot. I would say it is wider in the leg than my Tyne. I would really like a pair of Esk's or Spey's for ordinary walking about in the mud etc and keep my Tyne's for when I am riding. That's really greedy isn't it? Two pairs of Muck boots!
We are both so pleased with our boots though. You're feet feel like they are being cuddled when you put them on, not like wellies at all!

I have Tyne and Tack ones!! The Tacks are comfy but can make my feet ache if I walk to far in them. The Tynes are great but I need a boot jack to get them off!

I need a boot jack for mine too but that's what I like about them - they really hold your foot firmly yet softly which is great for me. I walk in mine everywhere and they are the only boot I can ride in at all at the moment.

Yep, I find them really comfy for walking and riding. I'm about 5 foot 4 so not the tallest, and they do come right up to my knees, but they don't rub or anything. I've walked the dogs in them, and walked out to the ponies and back, it's a good mile round trip and they didn't hurt - think they've got better arches than the Tack (welly type) ones. AND they wash really well so stay smart. Wish they did the Tyne in purple too LOL!

If you fold the leg down to your ankle they come off much more easily
