Ridden judge was Claire Dale and the Inhand Roger James Karen. Other people were there judging handypony, dressage, longreining, driving etc. too.

It was brilliant to see Nic and Aster going so well. Congratulations, a reward for lots of hard work. It was super to see everyone and just wonderful to watch Nic and Aster working so well as a pair. Claire Dale was judging and you could see the relief on everyones faces when it was announced that they didn't have to wear the jackets for the ridden classes. So very very hot!!! A wonderful day all round.

Lovely pictures Penny!! Im so glad little Aster pony is doing so well, she really is very eye catching! Her picton win was tremendous for only a 6 year old! It really doesn't seem long since she was a little foal in all the daisies! LOL Well done again

Waaaaaa Heeeeeee!!!! way to go Nic and the wonderful Aster, I missed most of the ridden as I ended up stewarding the long reining class wich was good fun, but just caught the end of the championship, Nic and Aster looked wonderful and I don,t know who was beaming more, Nic Penny or me for that matter, they both did so well, it was baking hot and a lovely venue. It was also lovely to see Jackie and Grace and also had a lovely chat to Clare Dale who was judging and we both had,nt realised that we were both there untill the end of the show which was quite funny. Congratulation to everyone who took part, not to mention the fact that there was someone there from Pontypridd about 20 miles from me with there new pony who is actualy in my area....yippee I have a member!

thanks Debbie - that means a lot... I agree. We too are very aware how young Aster is, she has done well for her first season. I am pleased for the success Nic has had recently for her work with Aster, but know that Nicola will remain sensibly grounded and thoughtful of her pony's welfare. Asty is taking a couple of days hard-earned rest now and is now outside with her friends doing what Dales ponies do best, eating, grooming and rolling! (In the daisies!) Later in the week she will enjoy some lovely ambles out hacking and hopefully some of this lovely weather will continue.

from memory - yes, Twywell Samuel Pepys was inhand champion, with Yartleton Comely, a lovely grey mare in reserve. Rosebarr Buster won the novice WH and the Open WH, and Handy pony I think. Daleshope Sugarsnap Chloe won the traditional ridden (boy that pony moves so well!) and was 2nd in another ridden - the open I think. I am sorry I can't remember any more.

Well, it didn't take Aster long at all to recover from her weekend away. She was back on top form this morning chasing Maria away when we went out to check on them all. [Aster does not like anyone to get near her human friends other than herself and Maria got too close to Nicola! ]
