It really should be Nicola telling you all this! I didn't take that many pictures I am afraid. I am however one of her very proud parents tonight. Nic is exhausted, half all the effort she made today and half adrenalin poisoning I think. First class this morning was very novice working hunter and Aster shocked us by completing it clear - Nic was gobsmacked when she won the class as she has never jumped a course ever before. Later she won the NPS Picton Novice Ridden, Junior Ridden and Open Ridden as well. Jackets off, thanks to a very kind and thoughtful judge who has obviously been there and suffered in the heat before. We had a good laugh with the handy pony. She entered at novice level, well you would wouldn't you if you have never done a handy pony class before - and came 6th - out of 6! I dont know how many actually did it in the end as more entries were taken during the day, but there were 6 in the catalogue! It was a good laugh - Aster did not like backing in between the red and white tape barriers, but she handled the flags, the carrying the sack and wheeling the wheelbarrow very well. It was lovely to see Jackie and Grace, Vanda and Debbie, Ken and Eileen and other friends we have made at Dales shows before. Thanks everyone for being so supportive!

I couldn't make it today either but wow, what a fantastic day you have had Penny! I am so pleased for Nic that all her hard work is paying off - and Aster is a lovely little pony. Nic looks very smart in her long boots!

Long boots Gill! Thereby hangs a tale. I don't want Nic to grow up too soon and Nic likes wearing them. Didn't think it would do nay harm today. Vanda sold these boots via dalesfans to us a while back and Nic was able to show Van what good use she is now putting them to!
