Remy: start of backing

Remy has now gone off to a racing yard for further training in the world! She had a last lesson with her current trainer Sue where she cantered under saddle for the second time correctly on both leads ;D, then loaded perfectly into the lorry and I took her up to Much Wenlock where they are going to take her out in all kinds of situations including traffic, riding out with other horses at all paces etc. She'll then go back to Sue's for some further training and hopefully I can then take up the reins!

Wow and wow again! She really is looking fabulous! Sounds like she is going to have a superb start and will hopefully be quite well rounded (in every sense) when she gets back to you. Can't wait to see more photos of her progress.

Gill, out of curiosity, do Lipizzaners take longer to mature as a breed? All I can remember of them is childhood books about the Spanish Riding School. They seemed to take years to train them, and that was after waiting til they were four before they even took them from the hills. Just curious as Remy seemed to come on so very, very quickly, and seems to take it all in stride. Is this like the breed? Or did you get lucky with her being so chilled?
