I am going to have to check my photos but i think i'm right... sally put fen(pearls mum) and ebony to jet around the same time.I can't recall much of ebonys breeding - was she by robin?? I'm sure she wasn't jets baby, that is why she was put in foal to him... It is thought that Eb. aborted a twin as something nasty was found in the field.. then she and fen foaled, one of the foals(eb's I think) had rather a lot of white,I seem to recall both where geldings and one was called william - eek this was a long time ago - at least 10years plus. I should have all the info at home and will bring bayboy the pics..

This is a picture of me riding Akehurst Rainbow, I know it's not Jet but it is one of his many wifes! Rainbow and Jet are my boys parents, it's nice to have the oppertunity to ride both his parents to get an idea what Beau will turn out like, Rainbow is a top quality show pony (and brood mare in her spare time) and has taken so many championships under saddle and in-hand so fingers crossed for my boy! Jet is still doing well, havnt ridden him for a while, not enough hours in the day! (Ignore the strange face im pulling in second picture)

HOW ON EARTH HAVE I MISSED THIS THREAD I am so happy to see Jet doing so well. I remember meeting him when we came to visit Delia a little while after buying Thor (Akehurst Prince of Darkness - Primrose/Heathers Lad) and he then was still a 'bad boy' but lovely none the less. Strangely enough was only looking at some photos of him that I took then, last night !!! How is Laddie, I was worried to hear that he had broken his pelvis and hope that he is ok now bless him. Comparing some photos last night it looks like Thor is growing into the image of his dad!! I will post a pic of him on here shortly so you can see what I mean. I am just so pleased that all of the hard work that you Delia and Heather have put in are paying off with Jet now, it is just so great to see. Delia has such a lovely way with all of her ponies and knows just the right way to tackle the problems. Please say hi to Delia and Heather for me and send Prim and Laddie a big hug each from me. Nikki

Hi Nikki,
The best way to dicribe Jet is misunderstood!! Laddie is fine, yes unfortunatly he fractured his pelvis about 2 years ago now, probably doing one of his amazing belly flops, after 5-6 months box rest is better and back to what he does best. . . covering mares.
Primrose is really well, shes 29 next month and top nannie of the stud! keeps her fit and on her toes looking after the weanlings.
Yes i think all of laddies off-spring look the same, they have the same shapped heads and and all have his lovly eyes

Nikki this is for you,
Delia said thor is managing to get his bridle and headcollars off, if you can do is headcollar tighter, with the bridle this is a trick us drivers used when we're out on marathons, saying this its easier to do on a welsh because they havnt got alot of mane but just behind the headpiece plait a piece of mane, roll in up into a ball and put a band round it, either tie a shoe lace onto band or thread it through plait and tie it tightish onto handpiece (so under headpiece and back over top) and ties into a bow (not a knot as he'll pull it tight) this way when he tried to rub he wont succed it getting it off, maybe off over one ear but thats as far as it will go, we use this method alot with the team horses as they rub against each other and its saved alot of accidents.
Hope this helps

Oh no!! I was hoping to come and see him being ridden and bring the 'little alien' with me - she is still in heaven from the side saddle demo!! AND I owe Delia a fiver for the club.... heck - maybe we could just come up and say hi to them all? I will have to call you bayboy as we want to visit when you're about too! When are the first foals due too - I hope we will visit before they arrive though - Little Alien gets far too wistful when she sees the foals, last time she had a list as long as your arm!!

Now that is a clever idea to keep the bridle/halter on...especially with the short ears they have ;D

The side saddle was a good laugh. I'm at the stud all day mon-fri but go up at weekends to do beau so up to you really, I can ride Jet again for you, he might be good as gold under-saddle you never know, well i'll just jump on and see what happens!! First foal due 29th April (i think) from Akehurst Princess rose (rosie) she was the mum of big rodney foal from last year. There so cute when there that small, then they grow up!! like alot of animals!!
