19 year old stallion Lowhouses Jet formally standing at Akehurst Stud was ridden for the first time in 15 years yesterday, having been lunging him with tack on all week decided it was time to give him a chance under saddle, he hasn't been sat on since he was 4 years old but all horses deserve a chance, so far so good, will keep up the hard work, another good notch on his post!
Will add a pic asap

Lowhouses Jet has been standing at Akehurst Stud for about 3 years now, he didnt have the best of starts that a stallion should have (handling wise), lets just say it was all done Jet's way, this caused a few argueements when he first arrived at stud, so like a typical teenage boy he got an asbo!! His asbo was lifted once he decided to that he could behave. Now Jet had started behaving he now gets to enjoy what the other 2 stallions Akehurst Heathers Lad and Akehurst Kilroy do both under saddle and in-hand

Wow!! Now that's some dedication to sort him out, give him the groundrules, and the time to realize things are going to be a touch bit different, and have the guts to back them up. Mothers of teenagers can easily relate to this one!!! (lol, and no, I don't have kids....just babysat enough of 'em ;D ) Congratulations on sorting his pic !!! What a handsome boy he is, and just look at those legs wow!

Wow, what a handsome boy, he sure looks much younger than his 19 years. They don't forget a thing, do they? Well done to have worked with Jet and given him a chance.

Wow, you've done a marvelous job turning him around after 15 years of getting his own way. I am sure he is a lot happier for it too! He is a great looking pony - I love the expression on his face in that pic!

Well done Tina! I really like Jet, he has such a nice head and movement. This is him in summer last year (2006) coming in from his field, I think it is credit to him that he is willing to change after such a long time of not knowing how to behave. I always felt he was a nice pony inside not knowing how to get out.

Excellent congratulations Tina and Delia and well done Jet. He is my mare Akehurst Black Velvets dad (Who lives at Delia's as well) and i think that they look very alike, what do you all think?

Well done to you all, it's not easy rehabilitating any horse but you've worked wonders there! He looks a lovely boy and must be so much happier with all the love and patience you've put into him!
