Hope Danny has been able to be out a little bit and has done okay with it. I know they should stay in but sometimes the stressing makes the compromise of being out a little a happy medium. Topaz was so stressed in the stable that farrier & vet agreed to let me have her out but I did have to pack her feet with clay for a year. She was already a chronic case though, and lucky you've gaught Danny's so early.

Oh no Kristy! I've got all fingers, toes and hoofs crossed for Danny. You must be feeling distraught. I hope and pray there will be good news tomorrow - what a dreadful condition this Lami is.

Well the extremely good news is that having x-rayed all four feet there are no signs of rotation or dropping of the pedal bone in any feet.
There is what looks like an anomalie on his left fore so the plan of action is 1 bute a day until next thursday when the farrier will take his shoes off and vet will re x-ray as she thinks it may just be the nail that looks funny.
The even better news that as long as he is ok on 1 bute over the weekend and the pulses dont come back than he can go into the hemell 24/7 on a deep sawdust bed with a pal which will make for a much happier Danny and Kristy too!!! :jump:
Many thanks to everyone for the good luck wishes and whilst he is not quite out of the woods yet, lets hope hes turned a big corner and someone please remind me never to leave the country for a fortnight again!!!

Danny, it sounds very unusual to x-ray with shoes on. Did she put markers on the front walls of his feet and on his frogs before x-raying? It is almost impossible to judge the angle of the pedal bones without.

Phew! What a relief for you! I'm so pleased Danny is doing well and is showing no sign of any bone changes.

Hi bella, yes she did put markers on the front wall and frog. Will re-xray the left fore when he has his shoes off.

Oh good, it sounds like she knows what she is doing then. I am always a sceptic where vets are concerned! Very glad to hear that things seem to be going the right way.
One of my old ponies got laminitis when I spent 4 days at the Royal Show with our sheep. I have never stayed away from home since!
