Mickey was fully retired 18 months ago although he'd done very little possibly for 2.5 / 3 years now. He's about 17 now and still enjoys himself. He is absolutely spoilt rotten and is on 2 bute a day. I was worried about how he'd go from an hours work a day to nothing but he's been fine- he's also back out in the herd where he's happiest.

Kristy - I'm very sorry to read this. No wonder you are feeling devestated. I know Danny will be fine though and hopefully enjoy many happy years of retirement with you and I'm sure you will still get a lot of pleasure from him but in a different way. Harvey sends Danny his love and wishes he could be retired too!

Im really sorry Kristy, Danny is a wonderful pony that has done some brilliant things with you. What is the matter with his hocks? is it just the joints? Glad he is sound at the moment though, hope he stays that way.

I'm so sorry to hear about Danny Kristy, but you should be very proud of what you have achieved with him . Is it arthritic changes in his hocks? Such a shame

At least he sounds happy in himself. I know its a shock that he's retired but look at everything you two have achieved!! And he'll still be on hand for cuddles

yes its bone spavin in his hocks. To be honest its a miracle that we managed to get him back competing after first being diagnosed last year and he has definatly taught me a lot and I will love him forever- he will never be forgotten as the cheeky git would never let me!
Thanks for the support- Roll on 2008 is all I can say as 2007 has been a right off.

I'm really sorry to hear that Kristy. What a time you've had of it lately. At least you've good memories of doing dressage with Danny.
I bet he'll enjoy playing around now.
