That's good Linda, at least they are showing concern and thinking about the problem. I suspect it could be a bit of both. D's conformation pushing you forward and then the extra weight on the front could have over compressed the prolite?
I'm going to check how Harvey's stirups hang today. Harvey has a similar conformation to D, as you know, and I have recently started to feel tipped forward a bit. Heather sent me some of the special Fhoenix inserts and it really does make a difference to how I feel on Harvs but I would still like some reassurance from an experienced fitter that I'm doing the right thing.
Do let us know how you get on with the fibergee.

It's good that they are taking your problem seriously Linda, considering you have had the saddle some years I don't think that any other company would be bothered with your problem to the extent they are asking to see the saddle and want to help you sort it out.
In my experience of well over ten treed saddles fitted and bought new, when I've had problems I've had no alternative but to sell them at great financial loss as the companies don't want to know.
I hope there is a simple (and cheap!) solution for you.

I must admit that whenever I've ridden D I've felt tipped forward by the saddle. I put it down to the different position of the stirrup bars to what I'm used to, but I wonder if it is the saddle/D's conformation.
Pam - I didn't feel the same when I rode Harvs.
Will be very interested in the outcome of the Fibregee test.......

Sue - that is interesting you didn't feel tipped forward on Harvey. I don't think I had the inserts in the saddle at that time. I'm hoping to come down to Linda's on WEdnesday now and I'll bring my saddle for comparison.

How did you feel on the Fhoenix on Saturn Sue?

Good to hear they are checking things out Linda. My saddle when I first got it felt like I was tipping forward, I do position it slightly more forwards now, not sure if I should or not but it feels fine now.

The Fhoenix felt fine, Gill. A different feel to my treed saddle, of course, but I didn't feel tipped forward like I do when riding D. I just put it down to her being broad and flat-backed and my hips not being as open as they could be.
It'll be great to see you on Wednesday Pam. It'll be interesting to try your saddle and see if there's a difference.

Did you do the Fibregee test, Linda?

Yes I did Sue and I felt more upright and sat on my bum! I went up and down the farm track doing a VERY powerful trot with the padding in and then the padding out several times. I kept changing it over so I could be sure I felt a difference. I felt less tipped but also, importantly I felt more padded under my bum. The saddle under my "girly bits" felt a bit hard. I don't remember it feeling like that when I first got it. So I'm starting to think there may be a compression in the front of the panels. From what Jill said to me on the phone though, they feel it is just due to D's conformation. I'm waiting with baited breath to hear what they say.

Did Jill tell you what aspect of D's conformation could be causing the problem? I hope they get back to you quickly - my breath is bated as well! LOL

They said that as D was so short coupled, she was croup high and that was making me slip forward in the saddle.

They said that as D was so short coupled, she was croup high and that was making me slip forward in the saddle. Well, they're the experts, but I can't see that she's croup high....what do you think? (hope you don't mind me posting a pic - I've been going through all my D pics and looking at her back and bum LOL) Could they mean that because she's short coupled, her croup is rising under the back of the saddle, so tipping it forward? In a pony with a longer back there would be a bit of clearance before the rise of the croup.

I'm with Sue here, in that D didn't seem croup high to me either. It could be with her better action that she's reaching far under herself now and perhaps is raising the saddle and sending it forward?
The bit I did NOT like, is how you said the foam felt hard under your girlie bits..... Linda does the foam feel like its changing in constitution to you? (I realize you may not want to post on the open forum with this all undergoing investigations, so you can pm me instead) I'm just curious to see what you think.

I think Sue is right and I'm sure that's what Heather and Jill meant. Harvey is similar though not quite so short coupled. The one positive thing is that surely this sort of conformation would suffer even more in a treed saddle.
