I picked up the new saddle last night, I had missed the delivery while I was in Leeds. It looks fine and I can't see what Jill meant by it having a crease on the back. I can't see one. The panels inside the leather are blue Gill, does that mean they are old ones or new ones? I think Jill said something about sending me some new flat panels as my name would be on a list?
Won't have time to try it today but hope to be able to tomorrow. I'm frantically trying to catch up with my 2 lost days with going to the hospital.

I've only seen black Linda, mine are black and the new panels I've seen in pics on EE are also black, unless some also came in blue! Gosh if you get sent new flat panels as well you ARE very fortunate - I'm waiting for some to come in but have to pay!

Linda - can't wait to hear what you and D think of the new saddle. Pics please!
Gill - were you having problems with the old type panels then? What made you decide to order a set of the new material ones? What are the advantages over the old prolite material?

Glad to hear that you've received the saddle Linda. Let us know what you and D think when you get to try it.

I've tried D out in the saddle today. It did seem to be a bit downhill on her which Pam's Fhoenix that I tried last week didn't seem to be. The stirrup leathers were very angled forward compared to the line of stitching on the flaps. I have taken a photo of it at home. It is level but I think the flaps are sloping backwards. Is this how they are supposed to be? I thought they should fall perpendicular. I think the photos on the home page of the dressage Fhoenix look more perpendicular than this? Am I just being paranoid? Anyway, I felt tipped forwards so I put the shims in and felt better. Joe said the stirrup leathers were not parallel to the stitching still though. I wonder if it is different because the panels are a different material to Pam's?

Linda, I was sent a pair of the new, flat panels and mine are blue. My original sadle came with the shaped panels but they were not suitable.

Don't forget that my saddle had some very thin shims in when you tried it on D. Also, I think the saddles to bed in a bit with use. Mine deffinately had "backwards" sloping panels initially but now they are slightly better though still a bit backwards.

Any more news? I have to admit that I am not a fan but i think that is because I do not have enough knowledge and understanding of them, i think treeless is very "fashionable" at the moment, but am willing to be persuaded.

I think that all the dressage saddles tend to have backward sloping flaps until they bed in Linda.
Can you take a pic of the girth arrangement under the flap please?

I also have had problems and am waiting resolution. Pleaselet me know about the foam in the sbs as Ferns saddle also tips forward and the foam is squashy at front. The fhoenix does not fit squirrel either.
