D is definitely keeping her distance! Isaac is keeping his little herd together and whenever D comes near he drives her off again. She doesn't go quietly, kicks her heels at him, but she does back off. The one time she has got close Choc has had a go at her too. So I think she is doing the sensible thing and keeping her distance at the moment. After all, she is severely outnumbered and the territory is strange. I say "watch this space" though. I think she is a wise old mare and will be looking to pick them off one at a time in her own time. I'm not sure about Isaac though, he might still emerge the winner as I'm not sure that D will waste as much energy as he is prepared to! So I might have lost a tenner here but lets see what the situation is in about three weeks time! Wish I was here to observe what happens.
We had a wonderful time at Jackie, Grace and Evie's place. Their ponies are beautiful and certainly encouraged Lucy and I in our plan to use Samuel Pepys. It was lovely to meet up and have such a friendly chat about what we love most! I love the way Jackie keeps her ponies and agreed with her ideas. It will be great for Lucy to have Jackie not too far away for advice and encouragement. I've got some lovely photographs which I will post from home. It was so good of them to spend so much time with us on their 25th anniversary when I'm sure they had better things to be doing.

It's really funny, when D came here she just put all of mine in their places and acted ike she has lived here all her life LOL! Maybe it's because three of them are young and aren't as likely to challenge her.
Well, it will be interesting to see if D has met her match!

I think D is still weighing them all up and will emerge on top. Give her a couple of weeks........

D Day 3: D spent the night in relative safety in the grassy bit of the field away from Mr Bully and his herd! They went out for grass this morning and she came in and had a brush, attempted cuddle (only just tolerated cos I had pony nuts! LOL!), did feet with the aid of a little conditioned suppression (ie a head collar!!) - well she doesn't know me so why should she trust me with her most treasured possession??!! - and then had some essential oils and herbs to settle her in. Talk about peppermint monster!!! LOL! After that I put her out in the perimeter and put the herd back with her. Isaac had to chase her round three times until he was too knackered to do any more (D is fitter!! ;D ) the others just stood out of the way watching! Peace has now returned as D has moved to the opposite side of the field. How sensible she is! I am surprised at Isaac's aggressive side, anyone would think he was a stallion dispatching a rival! I suppose grazing is limited and he sees it as a precious resource worth fighting for. Roll on them all settling down! Mind it is a good way of keeping the weight down on two of them!! PS. Linda was incredibly brave yesterday so send her lots of e-hugs to keep her spirits up!

Thanks for posting this Lucy. I was wanting to ring you up to see how things were going but thought I better wait till tonight or you'll be getting fed up with a neurotic Mummy!!
Took the car back to the garage this morning and walked back with Scruff along the riverbank. Had to walk through D's feild and must admit to being a little emotional. Good job Scruff is up for lots of cuddles! LOL!
Hope they all make their peace soon, very soon.....well as soon as possible anyway! LOL!

Me too please Linda. I know it must be very hard for you visiting the farm now. I'm sure Scruff won't object to all the extra cuddles.
Thanks for the update Lucy. Good to know they are settling - if only very gradually. lol

Photos are great, Linda....except I need to go on a diet!! LOL!!! I tried D with Pants this afternoon as he's good with everyone, but he ended up at the gate wanting to go back to his mates! Plan B: Amy and D, hurray!!!! this worked a treat, they were both fine and are now happily grazing with each other at a polite distance! This is great as I wanted them to get on well. So Choc and Pants are back together, Amy and D are making in roads, and "Billy-no-Mates" is as his name suggests!!! LOL! I even had Linda feeling sorry for ISAAC as he must be quite insecure as no one likes him!!!! (Except his Mummy even though she is rather cross at his aggressive behaviour! ;D ) I feel I can sleep a little more soundly tonight!
