male timing does leave a lot to be desired! Tell me about it!! Steve threw a teddy on Sat after my lesson with Claire regarding my (lack of!) housekeeping!! As I was considering ending it all at the time (bad bio-rhythm moment once every few years!!) he was surprised by the flood of tears!! He then felt extremely bad as he was leaving for a boys' jolly on Sunday for a few days!! Meanwhile I felt alot better for a good cry!! I was left with the objective of looking after myself and the ponies and being happy!! Can't complain really! Boys - can't live with them, can't live without them!! PS 9.30pm D had tea and all trundelling happily round the perimeter as i've put more grass on the long side!! Had to stop the evening long grass munchies as Amy is like a barrage balloon!! PPS 11.30 pm have just put out some straw in the field and risked life and limb as it was pitch black and there was much charging about! D and Amy were up near the gate which was fine for a while until everyone else turned up! Fortunately I was slightly squiffy so didn't get stressed!! LOL! Twice as many piles as ponies so all should be calm soon! Night night!

Oh Lucy! Your posts make me feel soooo much better in more ways than one! Hope you don't have a bad head in the morning. Hope I don't either. Just drunk about three quarters of a bottle and told Joe a thing or two! I think I must have had a bad bio rhythm moment too - or just fed up with having to think of his feelings instead of getting a modicum of support. He gave me a hug before he went to bed and said he had a lot to think about! LOL! Why can't men just admit they are wrong! It would save so much time and energy! I am about to face walking the dog whilst squiffy now. Not a patch on feeding ponies in the dark, in fact not really dangerous at all!
Thank you for cheering me up Lucy. Once again, you are a star! x

All quiet on the Western Front this morning Linda! Head not too bad! LOL! I'd managed 12 straw piles for 5 ponies last night ...not bad!! Back to work today so Sue will be looking in at lunchtime. Have a good day everyone!

I'm so glad that things seem to be going okay and sending big for you both!! You are doing fab looking after D Lucy and Linda you must be so relieved that she is in such good hands. I'm sorry that you have both suffered from lack of consideration in the male department - something I don't have to put up with thanks to my lovely Dave (sorry don't mean to rub it in!! ;D) but he does seem to be quite unique in that way. Hope to see you both some time - maybe at the Derbyshire show?

LOL Gill - I'm still working on a way to clone your Dave for all us beleaguered females who need a good, hassle-free man who shares the poo-picking and handles a rotavotor as if it was a food whisk! LOL

LOL Gill & SuzieP! My man is fantastic (and hugely tolerant 99.5% of the time!) and I really don't deserve him!! He just does grumpies on Sat morning as he tends to have a hangover (not that he'd admit that!!)
On the pony front, D had an under-carriage bath this evening as she'd been in season and got herself all sweaty and sticky, urgh!! She was as good as gold! Amy had her bits done too as she's in season, so we should be looking good for just after the Bakewell show for Sammy visiting if he's available then. I seem to have one wet breast! LOL!
There are still a few skirmishes (Amy always seems to be the one who ends up bitten, poor love) but no damage to D I'm relieved to say!
Off now to put out some straw and move the fence a little.

Thank you for the update Lucy. She does get VERY sticky when she is in season. Hopefully the fact she is seasoning so regularly and profusely is a good sign of fertility?!
I'm sorry Amy had got some bites. Would that be Isaac or D that is responsible? Hope it's not D! I'll have to come and have words with her if it is!
Hope there weren't too many piles of straw last night! LOL!
By the way, of course you deserve your lovely man, you are pretty lovely yourself!

My other half did the stalls for his mother and sister. Now, he won't touch mine! Bummer! I thought they trained him. My mistake.

Anne, behavioural options: beat with stick til he obliges (+ve P) withdraw "favours" until he obliges (-ve P) nag until he obliges (-ve R) or more ethical and motivational promise "favours" IF he obliges (+ve R) All may work, but some will leave him feeling better than others! LOL!!
Linda, was going to take you some photos as camera and man back tonight and all ponies were grazing happily, but as soon as I appeared with the camera, BnM started chasing poor D again! At least it's helping their weight control regime!! BnM banished to yard with Choc, but the moment had passed!
Maybe tomorrow!! D did all her feet for me in the field with no head collar so must have decided I'm an OK sort of honorary mum! Progress.
D sends her love. BnM would send her back!!! Ha ha!

I find beat with stick best option on men, but not on ponies! LOL!
Swabs for both ladies have come back clear so all we need now is Sammy! Hope they like him?!!
